Özet
ÖZET Çalışmanın konusu, sermaye yapısı ve sermaye maliyeti hakkında kuramsal açıklamalar yapıp, Arçelik A.Ş.'nin sermaye yapısı ve sermaye maliyeti arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir ve dolayısı ile, finans literatüründe önemli bir soruna ampirik yanıtlar bulmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bunu gerçekleştirmek için, Arçelik A.Ş.'nin 1999-2003 arasındaki verileri yardımıyla, sermaye yapısı ve sermaye maliyeti hesaplanıp ilişkiler kurulmuştur. Çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölümünde, öncelikle sermaye yapısına ilişkin genel kavramlar açıklanmış, daha sonra sermaye teorileri anlatılmıştır. Bir sonraki bölümde optimal sermaye yapısı seçimini etkileyen faktörlere ilişkin açıklamalara yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölüm, sermaye maliyetinin genel çerçevesini ve sermaye maliyetinin hesaplanmasının nasıl yapıldığı detaylı olarak anlatılmıştır. Son bölümde ise, Arçelik A.Ş.'nin sermaye yapısı incelenmiş, sermaye maliyeti hesaplanmış ve 5 yıllık bir bazda sermaye yapısı ve sermaye maliyeti arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Başka bir deyişle 1999-2003 dönemide, Arçelik'in yönetiminin aldığı finanslama kararlarının sermaye maliyeti üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır, finanslama kararlarını etkileyen olası faktörler bulunmaya ve söz konusu dönem için bir optimal sermaye yapısı belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır m

ABSTRACT After presenting it in a theoretical frame, this work attempts to analyze the impact of the capital structure on the cost of capital of Arçelik A.Ş. and to provide empirical answers to an important question of the finance literature. This study is consisted of four chapters, f n the first chapter, firstly the capital structure has been explained, afterwards the theories of capital structure have been studied. İn the following chapter, explanations of the factors that influence the choice of the optimum capital structure have been placed. In the third chapter, the general framework of the cost of capital and its calculation methods have been analyzed. İn the last chapter, the capital structure of Arçelik A.Ş. has been investigated, the cost of the capital has been calculated, and the relationship between the capital structure and the cost of the capital of this company has been analyzed for a period of five years. İn other words, the influences of the financial decisions of the management of Arçelik A.Ş. upon the cost of the capital of the company were researched, the possible factors that might have been influenced the financial decisions and an optimum capital structure has been tried to determine for the 1999-2003 period.
