Özet
Kent içi yesil alanların önemli bir kısmını yol agaçlandırmaları olusturmaktadır. Bu arastırmada stanbul'un en önemli caddelerinden Cumhuriyet Caddesinin Elmadag- Harbiye arasında kalan kısmı, Halaskargazi Caddesi ve Büyükdere Caddesinin Mecidiyeköy Meydanına kadar olan kısmı incelenmistir. Bu caddelerde bulunan agaçların türleri, kök çevresi serbest alanları, gövde çapları, tepe taç baslangıçları, boyları, tepe tacı genislikleri, yola ve binalara olan mesafeleri, agaçlar arası uzaklıkları, saglık durumları tespit edilerek tipolojik envanterleri hazırlanmıstır. Çalısma kapsamında kentsel ekolojik faktörler ve kent yollarının ekolojik kosulları, kent içi yol bitkilerinin mimari ve estetiksel potansiyelleri, kent içi yol bitkilerinin fonksiyonel ilkeleri ayrı ayrı incelenmistir. Tezin sonuçlar bölümünde; kent içi yol agaçlandırmalarında, bulunan bölgenin ekolojik kosullarının yanında, yol genislikleri, alt ve üst yapı tesisleri, trafik yogunlugu gibi vb faktörler dikkate alınarak tür seçimi yapılması, standartlara uygun nitelikteki agaçların dikilmesine özen gösterilmesi gerektigi belirtilmistir.

Trees planted by the sides of roads make a significant part of the green patches within the city of Istanbul. In this research, too, the stretches of land between the Taksim Square and Harbiye of the Cumhuriyet Street, the whole of the Halaskargazi Street, and the part of the Büyükdere Street that stretches up to the Mecidiyeköy Square have been studied. The species of the roadside trees in these streets, the clear area around tree roots, size of tree trunks, the uppermost points of the trees, their heights and width at the top, the length of space between the trees and the roads and the buildings, how far the trees are planted from each other, whether they are growing healthily have been observed and typical inventories of all the trees have been made. The data gathered are scrutinized under such headings as the observation results of roadside tree planting, the technique for roadside planting, and the maintenance of roadside plants. Within the scope of the research, the ecological factors in urban areas and the ecological conditions of the city roads, the esthetical and architectural potentials of the urban roadside plants, and the principles about the functioning of these plants have been studied individually. Before planting trees by roadsides within a city, in order to choose the right species, points such as road width, the infrastructures and superstructures, traffic jams, as well as the area?s ecological conditions should be taken into consideration, and great care is
