Özet
Yapılan bu çalışmanın ana amacı fethinden XVI. yüzyıla kadar olan süreçte Tırhala kazasının idarî, iktisadi, sosyal ve demografik yapısını ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma bir giriş ve dört bölümden oluşmakta olup, giriş kısmında incelemenin ana kaynakları anlatılmış, akabinde Tırhala şehrinin fetihten önce ve sonra geçirdiği tarihi dönem yerli-yabancı araştırma eserleri ile kronikler vasıtasıyla incelemeye yansıtılmıştır. Birinci bölümde, şehrin fizikî yapısı ve bu yapıya etki eden çeşitli etmenler üzerinde durulmuştur. İkinci bölümde, şehirdeki idareci zümre ve yine sosyal hayatın destekçisi vakıflar ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde, şehir ve kazanın nüfus yapısı ve özelliği hem ayrı ayrı hemde birlikte değerlendirilmiştir. Son bölümde ise şehir ve kazanın genel iktisadi yapısı, zirai üretim ve toprak tasarruf şekilleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Yapılan çalışmanın sonucunda, Tırhala şehri ve kazasının sadece Tesalya bölgesi değil, aynı zamanda diğer Balkan şehirleri arasında da coğrafi, iktisadi, sosyal ve demografik yapısıyla önemli bir konumda olduğu, zaman içinde bir Osmanlı şehri hüviyetine kavuştuğu tespit edilmiştir.

The main purpose of this study is to reveal the administrative, economic, social and demographic structure of the Tırhala town from the conquest to the 16th century. The study consists of an introduction and four chapters. The main sources of the study are described in the introduction. After that the historical period of the city of Tırhala before and after the conquest was reflected in the examination through the chronicles of domestic and foreign research works. In the first chapter, the physical structure of the city and various factors affecting this structure are emphasized. In the second chapter, the administrators in the city and foundations supporting the social life were discussed. In the third chapter, the population structure and the characteristics of the city and the town were evaluated separately and together. In the last chapter, information has been given about the general economic structure, agricultural, production and land-saving forms of the city and the district. As a result of this study, it has been determined that Tırhala city and its town is not only located in the region of Tesalya but also in other Balkan cities with its geographical, economic, social and demographic structure, it has gained an Ottoman city identity over time.
