Özet
Bu araştırma, insanlık tarihi kadar eski bir geçmişe sahip olan hediyeleşme geleneğinin metinlere yansıyan yönüyle toplumsal cinsiyet boyutunu ele almaktadır. Halk Edebiyatı metinlerindeki hediyeleşmenin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine olan etkisinin daha önce herhangi bir çalışmaya konu edilmemiş olması bu araştırmanın önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Araştırma giriş, iki bölüm ve sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmı üçe ayrılmaktadır. Öncelikle araştırmanın amacı, kapsamı, yöntemi belirtilmiş, daha sonra hediye kavramı, Türk folklorunda hediyeleşme ve hediyeleşmenin tarafları verilmiştir. Bu bölümde son olarak toplumsal cinsiyet kavramı ve toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde hediyeleşmenin sık olarak görüldüğü türkü, mâni, masal, halk hikâyeleri, atasözleri ve deyimler ile dua-beddua metinleri incelenmiş ve verilen hediyeler tespit edilmiştir. Bu hediyelerin verilme amaçları ve Türk kültüründeki yeri tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, Türk Halk Edebiyatı metinlerinde verilen hediyelerden hareketle kadın ve erkeğin verdiği hediyelerin taşıdığı anlamlar, kadından ve erkekten beklenen roller, kadının ve erkeğin ait olduğu mekânlar tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuç kısmında ise incelenen metinlerden hareketle elde edilen bulguların değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır.

This study deals with the gender aspect of the tradition of giving presents, which is as old as the history of humanity, as it appears in the texts. The fact that the influence of the giving gifts in the texts of the Folk Literature on the gender roles has not been the subject matter of any study proves the importance of the gift investigation. This study consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. The Introduction comprises of three parts. Firstly, the aim, the scope and the method of the investigation are given, afterwards, the concept of gift, and the giving gifts and the parties involved in giving gifts in Turkish folklore are also presented. In this part, lastly, the concept of gender and gender roles are elaborated. In the first chapter of the study, the texts in which giving gifts is frequently encountered, such as the texts of Turkish folk songs, mani, tale, folk stories, proverbs and idioms, and prayer-curse, are analyzed and given gifts are determined. In the second chapter of the study, with reference to the gifts given in the Turkish Folk Literature, the meanings of the gifts given by both women and men, expected roles from women and men, and the places where women and men belongs are determined. In the conclusion of the study, the findings gained through the texts analyzed are evaluated.
