Özet (Çeviri)

In this thesis, I am required to research about Muslim minority women, whom are affected by the negative social control regarding a Danish community. The phenomenon ''negative social control'' is a defending question in itself, which is not velar-out but ambiguous. Which means that the negative social control can surface in different ways and different forms of control. The reasons behind the phenomenon can also be explained in different ways, though the patriarchal and collectivist culture approach to both gender roles is basically the same in situations with negative social control. The challenges are many with negative social control and it can have numerous negative consequences for the victim, whom is affected by it. For example, it can be connected to the psychological and/or social issues. Currently in Denmark there is a strong political interest around the subject of negative social control. Politically the government has released a national plan of action in October 2016''Prevention of honor-related conflicts and negative social control'', which overall talks about some previous efforts and the new actions concerning prevention and the fight against negative social control. My thesis statement in this special study is: How do the Muslim minority women experience the negative social control, and which meanings does it have for their identities? I use symbolic interactionism and structural symbolic interactionism as a theoretical platform, to analyze the social reality in which the given situation can be understood in the interactions. Thereby I use the identity control theory to understand how person's different identities are created, changed and/or remain stable in interactions. For the empirical data, I have applied the qualitative interview method. I have interviewed three Muslim women of the minority Muslim community and focused on their experiences and how the negative social control has affected then both personally, socially, relationally, psychologically and/or physically. This thesis concludes that one of the issues that occurred in my analysis was the relationship between the exercise of negative social control and the way in which a Muslim's behavior or manner is. Here it emerged that this issue is the tension between culture and religion. Thus, the interaction between culture and religion is difficult. 20107943 Speciale i Pædagogisk Psykologi 1.juni 2017 DPU – Aarhus Universitet 5 Another issue was whether marriage was an individual process or a parental process. In both cases, negative social control is linked. A third issue was experts should help the women that keep it as a secret that they are exposed to negative social control. The women's hierarchy of identity plays role in how they manage negative social control. For example, an identity salience and importance, as rebellious access, leads to less control and can almost eliminate the man's control.
