Özet
Mimari düşüncenin kavramsal ve ortografik çizimlerle, fiziksel veya sayısal olarak modellenmesiyle yahut bu metotların birkaçının bir arada kullanılmasıyla temsil edilmesi gerekir. Mimar proje önerisini yapılı ve doğal çevreyi gözeterek inşa metoduna, yapı malzemesine, yüksekliğine, yaratacağı bireysel ve toplumsal etkiye ve ölçeğine dikkat ederek yukarıda bahsedilen mimari temsil yöntemlerinden uygun olanları kullanır. Mimarın düşündüklerini karşı tarafa aktarma konusunda kullandığı bu enstrüman seçimi hem mesleki hem de toplumsal açıdan önemlidir. İster fikir projesi ister konsept, ön veya uygulama projesi olsun bu enstrüman seçimi mimarın mesleğe olan bakış açısını ortaya koyar. Modernite ile ortaya çıkan yenilikçi düşünce ve sanat akımlarının mimari düşüncenin temsiliyetini geliştirmesiyle birlikte 20. yy'.ın sonlarına doğru bilgisayar kullanımı ve diğer teknolojik gelişmeler tasarımcıların çalışmalarını dijital ortamlara taşıma fırsatı yakalamıştır. Mimarlık düşüncesi temsilin biçimini belirlediği gibi temsil yöntemi de mimarlık düşüncesi üzerinde şekillendirici bir etkiye sahiptir. Bu ilişki karışlıklıdır. Bu tezde mimari düşüncenin temsiliyetinin önemi, bu amaçla seçilen araç ve ortamların yarattığı etkiler ve tasarımcının zihninde tasarlanan imgelerin kâğıda, dijital ortama ve gerçek ortama yansımasının aşamaları irdelenecektir. Bu çalışma mimari düşünce ve temsilin tanımı ile başlar daha sonra yöntemlerine değinip bunu örnekler üzerinden çeşitlendirir. Özgün fikirlerin mimarideki yansımalarının hissedilmeye başlandığı 20. yy. ile 21.yy.ın ilk çeyreği arasındaki bir süreçte üretilen çalışmalar incelenmiştir. Ofis ve mimar seçimleri yapılırken mimarlık mesleğine ve mimari düşüncenin temsili konusunda yaptıkları katkılar ve öncü tavırlar dikkate alınmıştır. Seçilen örnekler Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Louis Kahn, Antonio Sant'Elia, Richard Buckminster Fuller, Arata Isozaki, Vladimir Tatlin Archigram, Vladimir Tatlin, Yakov Çernikov, Gordon Matta-Clark, Lebbeus Wood, Alison ve Peter Smithson, Ernő Goldfinger, Walter Förderer, Kunio Maekawa, Bernard Tschumi, Peter Eisenman, Rem Koolhaas, MVRDV, BİG, JDS, Frank Lloyd Wright, MAD Architects, Diller & Scofidio, Frei Otto, Günther Behnisch ve Santiago Calatrava'dır.

Architectural ideas must be represented by systematic and orthographic representation, physical or digital modeling, else a combination of these methods. The architect uses the appropriate methods of architectural representation mentioned above, paying attention to the construction method, building material, height, individual and social impact and scale of the project proposal by considering the built and natural environment. This choice of instrument used by the architect to convey his/her thoughts to the other party is important both professionally and socially. Whether it is an idea project, concept, preliminary or implementation project, the choice of this instrument reveals the architect's perspective on the profession. As the innovative thought and art movements that emerged with modernity developed the representation of architectural thought, the use of computers and other technological developments towards the end of the 20th century gave designers the opportunity to transfer their works to digital environments. As architectural thought determines the form of representation, the method of representation has a shaping effect on architectural thought. This relationship is mutual. In this thesis, the importance of the representation of architectural thought, the effects created by the tools and media chosen for this purpose, and the stages of the reflection of the images designed in the designer's mind on paper, digital media and real media will be examined. This study starts with the definition of architectural thought and representation, then touches upon its methods and diversifies them through examples. The works produced in a period between the 20th century and the first quarter of the 21st century, when the reflections of original ideas in architecture began to be felt, are examined. While selecting offices and architects, their contributions to the architectural profession and the representation of architectural thought and their pioneering attitudes were taken into consideration. The selected examples are Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Louis Kahn, Antonio Sant'Elia, Richard Buckminster Fuller, Arata Isozaki, Vladimir Tatlin Archigram, Vladimir Tatlin, Yakov Chernikov, Gordon Matta-Clark, Lebbeus Wood, Alison and Peter Smithson, Ernő Goldfinger, Walter Förderer, Kunio Maekawa, Bernard Tschumi, Peter Eisenman, Rem Koolhaas, MVRDV, BIG, JDS, Frank Lloyd Wright, MAD Architects, Diller & Scofidio, Frei Otto, Günther Behnisch and Santiago Calatrava.
