Özet (Çeviri)

The thesis on the morphology of the Bartın-Çayağazı-Amasra-Çakraz Bay coastal area is divided into three sections. Section one explains the location of the research area, its borers and general geographical features. The research area is the north-west section of the Black Sea Region. İt stretches from the southern parts of Bartın to the Black Sea coast, extending from the Bartın River in the west to the eastern parts Çakraz Bay in the east. The area is generally in the form of a plateau. The first section then goes on to describe previous research activities carried out in the same region, also stating the purpose and methodology of the thesis. Section two, entitled“Factors Affecting Geomorphology”, describes the structure and its geological evolution. The area exhibits rock formations from the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Tertiary and Quaternary Periods. Paleozoic areas basically consist of calcareous and dolomite-calcareous formations located in the north-west section of the area. Mesozoic areas also contain various calcareous formations as well as claystone, sandstone and conglomerate. These are extensively found throughout the area. Vulcanite layers dating from the Tertiary Period are observed in the central and southern sections, providing chronological evidence for the geological evolution of the area. Climate, soil, vegetation, hydrography and the human factor are the determinants of the geomorphological structure. The region has the Black Sea Climate with considerable precipitation. The soil pattern consists of podsolic soil and brown forest soil. The vegetation pattern consists of mixed forests and pseudo-bushes. The river network has a dendritic and degenerated drainage. The third section describes geomorphological characteristics of the area in two subsections: Internal Area and Coastal Area. There is a“Coastal Zone”which runs parallel to the coastline and a broad“Internal Zone”with plateaus located inward, at a distance 5 to 6 times wider than the Coastal Zone. The two zones are separated by a drainage divide running parallel to the coastline. The internal Zone has intensive hills having the general characteristic of plateaus, the Bartın Plane, fluvial karstic sections to the north-west and a karstic plateau with small and large sinkholes covering a considerable area. Eroded flat areas are observed on top of most hills. Due to neotectonic activity, the zone has several V-shaped valleys which have been formed relatively recently. Antecedent and epigenic straits can also be observed. The dominant morphology of the Coastal Zone consists of cliffs. The zone has a calcareous and steep coast with bays, some of which have natural beaches. Marine caves and natural bridges can be observed inside the cliffs. The Amasra Tombolo is one of the most distinct and largest tombolos of the Black Sea Region. The fourth section provides an Applied Geomorphology of the area. Prevailing problems such as floods, slides and seismicity are discussed and solutions suggested. IV İd ^teEK??REfta KD$ ^UP
