Özet
Bu çalışmada, 6 yaş üzeri otizmli çocukların vertigo semptom skalası ölçeği kullanılarak düşme eğilimleri araştırılacaktır. Vücut dengemizi sağlayan 3 sistem vardır. Bunlar; görme, vestibüler sistem ve proprioseptif sistemdir. Otizmli çocuklarda proprioseptif (duyusal) sistem görevini yerine getiremediğinden daha çok görme ve vestibüler sistem sayesinde dengelerini sağlarlar. Azalmış dengeyi saptamak için Vertigo Semptom Ölçeği kullanılarak ailelerine yönelik sorular sorulacaktır. Ölçek çalışmasıyla elde edilen değerler ile duyusal sistemi azalan otizmli bireylerde düşme eğilimleri artar mı veya sabit mi kalır ?, hipotezi ile çalışmamız düşünülmüştür. Bu araştırma ' Ailelerine Yönelik Vertigo Semptom Skalası Ölçeği Kullanılarak Otizm Tanısı Almış 6 Yaş Ve Üzeri Çocukların Vestibüler Sisteminin Değerlendirilmesi ' açıklayıcı bir araştırmadır. Bu çalışma, Avcılar Özel Başak Özel Eğitim Merkezi'nde Mart 2025 - Haziran 2025 tarihleri arasında 3 ay süre içerisinde 6 yaş üzeri otizmli çocukların ailelerine yönelik vertigo semptom skalası ölçeği ve otizmli çocuklar için duyusal değerlendirme formu kullanılarak yöntem araştırılması yapılacaktır. Çalışmaya 50 kişi dahil edildi. Araştırmaya katılan gönüllülerimize çalışmanın konusu ve amacı ' Bilgilendirilmiş Gönüllü Olur Formu ' aracılığıyla bilgilendirme yapıldıktan sonra kendi istekleri doğrultusunda çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Bu kriterlere uygun katılımcıların ailelerine vertigo semptom skalası ölçeği ve otizm duyarlılık formu ile hipotez açıklaması yapılacaktır. Çalışmaya dahil edilen katılımcıların yaş ve otizm tanısı aldığına dair raporu demografik veriler olarak toplanacaktır. Çalışma verilerinin analizi SPSS 26.0 paket programı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilecektir. Bulguların yorumlanmasında 0.05 istatiksel anlamlılık düzeyi olarak kabul edilecektir. Gruplar arası farklılığı belirlemek üzere kullanılacak istatiksel testlere verilerin normal dağılıp dağılmamasına göre karar verilecektir. Verilerin normal dağılıp dağılmamasına göre T testi veya Mann Whitney U testi kullanılacaktır.

In this study, the tendency to fall among children aged 6 years and older with autism will be investigated using the Vertigo Symptom Scale (VSS). Three systems are responsible for maintaining body balance: the visual system, the vestibular system, and the proprioceptive system. Since the proprioceptive (sensory) system does not function effectively in children with autism, they rely more heavily on the visual and vestibular systems to maintain balance. To detect decreased balance, questions based on the Vertigo Symptom Scale will be administered to the parents. This assessment aims to identify balance difficulties and contribute to understanding vestibular dysfunctions and fall risk in children with autism. Based on the values obtained from the scale, our study was designed with the hypothesis that whether the tendency to fall increases or remains constant in individuals with autism whose sensory systems are diminished. This research, titled“Evaluation of the Vestibular System of Children 6 Years and Older Diagnosed with Autism Using the Vertigo Symptom Scale for Their Families,”is a descriptive study. This study will be conducted at Avcılar Private Başak Special Education Center over a three-month period, between March 2025 and June 2025, to investigate the methodology of autistic children over the age of 6 using the Vertigo Symptom Scale and the Sensory Assessment Form. Fifty participants were included in the study. Participating volunteers were informed about the study's subject and purpose through the“Informed Consent Form”and were then included in the study at their own request. The families of participants who meet these criteria will receive a statement of the hypothesis using the Vertigo Symptom Scale and the Autism Sensitivity Form. Demographic data will be collected regarding the age and autism diagnosis of the participants included in the study. Data analysis will be conducted using the SPSS 26.0 package program. A level of statistical significance of 0.05 will be accepted as the level of statistical significance in interpreting the findings. Statistical tests used to determine differences between groups will be determined by whether the data are normally distributed. T test or Mann Whitney U test will be used depending on whether the data is normally distributed or not.
