Özet
ÖZET 19. Yüzyılın Sonları ve 20. Yüzyılın Başlarında Osmanlı Devletinin İdari Taksimatı (Adana ve Konya Vilayetlerini ihtiva eden bu çalışma üç bölüm ve sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Tezin 1. Bölümünde Osmanlı Devleti'nin idari yapısı, idari taksimata ait terimler, idari teşkilat ve vilayet teşkilatı hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. II. Bölümde, 1268h ile 1328h Devlet Salnameleri esas alınarak Adana Vilayeti'nin idari dağılımı ve bu yıllara tekabül eden değişiklikler incelenmiştir. III. Bölümde, 1268h ile 1328h Devlet Salnameleri esas alınarak Konya Vilateti'nin idari dağılımı ve bu yıllara tekabül eden değişiklikler incelenmiştir. Sonuçta ise Adana ve Konya vilayetlerine idari değişikliklerin sosyal ve iktisadi açıdan beklenen gelişmeyi ortaya koyamadığı, Osmanlı Devleti'nin genel olarak ülke çapında uyguladığı yeniden idari yapılanma ve modernizasyon çalışmalarının yetersiz kaldığı vurgulanmıştır.

SUMMARY This study deals with the administrative distribution of the part of the Ottoman Empire, especially the provinces of Konya and Adana in the second half of the 19th. Century and at the beginning of the 20th century. It consists of three chapters and the conclusion. The first one is concentrated on the administrative style and idioms, especially provincial administrative organizations concerning the administrative division in the Ottoman Empire. The second chapter examines the provincial division of the Adana provinceand the changes over the years from the hicri 1268 to 1328 based on the materials on the state salnames (year-books). The third chapter similarly follows the same pattern for Konya as it has been done for that of Adana province. The conclusion reviews the divisions and the changes over the period in concern and its affects on the social and economis life of the provinces in question. It may be perhaps said that these changes and the policy followed reveals that the intention of the Ottoman statemen for this purpose could not be put into practise properly as it was actually intended.
