-52- ÖZET Devlet Haraları Orijinli Safkan Arap Atlarının Yarış Performanslarının Gelişimi ve Bunu Etkileyen Faktörler Bu araştırmama amacı; devlet haralarında yetiştirilmiş ve hipodromlarda koşmuş olan Arap atlarının yarış performanslarının gelişimini yıllar üzerinden incelemek, yaraş performansını etkileyen faktörleri ortaya koymak ve Arap atı yetiştiriciliğine ışık tutmaktır. Araştırmanın materyalini; Karacabey, Çifteler ve Sultansuyu haralarında yetiştirilmiş ve 1960-1988 yallara arasında İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir ve Adana hipodromlarında“Açık Koşu”larda koşmuş olan üç yaşlılar ile dört ve yukarı yaşlı“A Grubu”Araplara ait değişik koşu mesafelerinde birinci olan atlarla yarış dereceleri teşkil etmiştir. Yarış dereceleri, Türkiye,Jokey Klübünün 1960-1988 (29 yıllık) yılları arasında her yıl yayımladığı“At Yarışları Neticeler”ni içeren kitaplardan alınmıştır. Üç yaşla Araplar için 297, dört ve yukarı yaşla Araplar için de 456 olmak üzere toplam 753 koşu neticesinden yaralanılmıştır. Değişik mevsimlerde ve pistlerde, koşulan her yarış mesafesinde gerek üç yaşlı ve gerekse dört ve yukarı yaşla A grubu Arap atlarının, yılların ilerlemesi İlet yaraş performanslarının gelişim gösterdiği ortaya koyan ve-53- istatistiki yönde önemli çıkan korrelasyon katsayıları hesap edilmiştir. Üç yaşlı Arap atlarıma yaraş performanslarını koşu pistinin çim ve kum olması etkilemiştir. 1200, 14-00, 1600 ve 1800 metrelik yana mesafelerinde çini ve kum pistlerde elde edilen yarış dereceleri arasındaki farklar istatistiki yönden önemli çıkmıştır (P

-55- SUMMARY The Develops» at of Racing Performances of Arabian Horses raised in State Farms and Factors affecting these. The aim of this study was to investigate the development of performances of Arabian horses which were raised on state farms and which have run in horses-racing» to suggest factors affecting racing performances and to shed light on the breeding of Arabian horses. The material used in this study were the winning scares of three year old Arabian horses which had ran in open-races in İstanbul, Ankara İzmir and Adana between I960 and 1988 and Arabian horses aged four or above (Group A) who were winner at different race lenghts. The winning scores were obtained from the book Horse-Racing Results published annual by the Turkish tockey dub bef twee, 1960 and 1988 for 29 years. A total of 753 winning scores were used» 297 of these were for there year old Arabian horses and 456 for those aged four or above Correlation coefficients were worked out which were found to be statistically significant for different seasons and race-courses, the race performances of both three and four year old Arabian horses and the older group A horses were found to develop as they became older.The racing performances of the three year old Arabian, horses were found to he affected by the course was grass, or sand. The differences between winning scores from grass and sand race- course s for 1200, 1400, 1600 and 1800 metres were found to he statistically significant. The racing performances of Arabian horses aged four and above (Group A) were, apart from the 1400 and 1600 metre race distances found to be affected significantly by the race-course was grass or sand for the 1800, 2000, 2200 and 2400 metre races. The effect of seasons on the racing performances of three year old Arabian horses wasn, table to be determined, the differences between the averages of the winning scores obtained in the winter-Spring and summer-autumn seasons were not statistically significant. On the other hand, the racing performances of Arabian horses aged four and over» were found to be affected significantly by seasons within 5 % and 1 % confidence limits. The differences between the winning scores of three year old Arabian horses raised on the Çifteler, Karacabey and Sultansuyu state farms obtained on grass-coureee were found to be statistically insignificant. The winning scores on sand race-courses were also found to be insignificant-57- apart from in the 1400 metre races. The differences between the average winning scores of Arabian horses raised on the Çifteler, Karacabey and Sultansuyu state farms aged four and over, obtained on grass and sand race-courses were also found to be statis tically insignificant for the same raoe-lenght.
