THE INVESTIGATION OF BY USING ŞAVŞAT PUZZOLANS ON THE PRODUCTION OF BLENDED CEMENTS SUMMARY Keywords : Natural puzzolan,compressive strength, durability, cement performance, Şavşat puzzolan, Lafarge puzzolan, sulfate attacks, Turkey has rich puzzolan resources so it's aimed in this study to use of natural puzzolans such as Şavşat and Lafarge puzzolans on the cement production with blended cements. The use of appropriate puzzolans in correct quantities provides some technical and economic advantages in improving concrete and cement performance. With this, it's aimed to get Şavşat puzzolans resources to economy in this region and provides important effect in that region's economy. Lafarge and Şavşat puzzolans are added to cement clinker at specific ratios and used as additives to cement various combinations in an attempt to determine the effect of additives on various properties of blended cement such as compressive strength, setting time and as durability strength and weight loss. The effect of puzzolan use as partial substitute for cement against sulfate resistance is also investigated. With this aim, it's realized as durability different blended cements to be kept sodium and magnezium sulfate with 10 % concentration. Experiments were performed using cement mixtures with various ratios of puzzolans added. The ratios used were 10, 20 and 30 percentages. The specimens were left in lime saturated water for 7, 28, 90 and 180 days. The values of compressive strength were determined that days. When the subtitution ratio is increased, -in according with clinker quantities are decreased- usually compressive strength values are decreased. The use of puzzolans there are strength and weight losses decreased in different sulfate concencrations. Until a substitution ratio, the use of puzzolans have provided affirmative effect on the concrete performance.
