VII ABSTRACT The Comparison and the Suggestion of the Problems at the Application of the Food Safety System in the Dairy and Dairy Products industry between Turkey and Germany ÖZDEMİR DİNÇER, Elçin MSc in Dairy Technology Supervisor : Asst. Prof. Cem Karagözlü December 2005, 168 pages In Turkey the global developments related to food safety are being closely traced as a requirement for international trade.In additition, in the scope of relationships with EU, the adjusment studies have also significantly accelerated the food safety and particularly the developments concerning regulations.Likewise, in 1995 right after enacting the Food Law, the guidelines and application announcements related to subsectors were started being published and put in effect.Naturally in this development progress concerning food regulation, preparations have been started in the milk and milk products industry which is an important subsector of food Industry. This study primarily included the agricultural politics related to stockbreeding due to its direct affects on formation of Turkish and Germany's industrial structures and subsequently the present status of milk and milk products industries in Turkey and Germany and their structural differences were examined.Then, the developments that emerged in regulations related to establishing the food safety systems in milk industry in EU were considered and the difficulties that Turkey may cause in regards to adjusment to EU were evaluated.
