Özet

SUMMARY This study includes the investigation of the hydrogeology and drinking water resources of the Dutluca (Tokat) town 2 and vicinity. The study area is about 57 km. In the study area the basement rocks consist of Upper Carbonifer- Trias aged Devecidağ Complex. In this complex two units, limestone and volcanic rocks, have been differentiated. Cretaceous rocks of the region have been named as Artova Ophiolitic Complex. Lutesian sediments are represented by conglomerate, sandstone, marl, thin layered gypsium and mudstone and named as Çekerek Forma tion. Pliocene aged Dutluca clays are red lacustrine sediments consisting mainly of clorite, simectite, illite minerals and less gravel and sand. The hydrological calculations related the study area have been made using Artova (Tokat) meteorological station data. Mean annual precipitation of the area, based on 22 year precipitation data, is 436,3 mm. Annual flow valume of the Sapoğlu Stream passing through Dutluca 6 3 town is 3,710x10 m /y. According to the hydrological budget calculation excess water is present in winter. The main stream in the study area is Sapoğlu Stream, and the D.S.I. Dutluca Dam has been constructed on the Sapoğlu creek. In the area there are some springs with the average discharge rates differing between 0,1-9.0 It/sec, The total hardness of the Balıklı 1 spring which has the maximum discharge rate, is more than 50°PH and is not suitable for drinking purposes. The water of the borehole ' (discharge rate 10.0 It/sec) drilled by the Bank of Provinces in the Sapoğlu Creek alluvium is also not suitable for drinking, because of the its hardness which is over than 50°PH. Grain size distribution, porosity and permeability of the alluvium material have been determined. According to theVI test results, grain size of the alluvium material is differential, and it contains poorly sorted particles. It has“been concluded that the filter opennings in the boreholes should he ”between 0,15-2,16 mm. ; Geophysical survey has been carried out at different locations on the alluvium. According to the measurements the gravelly- sandy layers of the alluvium have maximum thickness of 20,0 m. In the drainage basin the recharge of the groundwater 6 3 from the rain is calculated as 4,267x10 nr/year. In addition the infiltration from surface runoff is l,380xl06 m3/year. Water analysis results of the samples from 11 points, indicate that the waters of the study area are in the classes Cp-S-, and C^-S-,, from the point of irrigation water classification. All waters in the study area are incrustant. The present drinking water requirement of the Dutluca town is 2,5 It/sec and the requirement for the future is 4,0 lt/sec. The most reasonable solution to the drinking water, problem of the town, taking into consi deration water quality and requretnent, is the underground drainage system along the Elmalı and Yayla creeks.
