Özet
Stok yöneticilerinin karşılaştığı en önemli zorluklardan biri talepve tedarikteki belirsizliklerdir. Talep ve tedarik ile ilgili bilgipaylaşımı belirsizliği azaltabilir ve ilgili taraflar açısındankarlı olabilir. Ama bilgi paylaşımının karlılığını hesaplamak genelolarak kolay değildir. Bu tezde amacımız yöneticilerin elde edilenkapasite bilgisini stok politikalarında nasıl kullanabileceğinigörmek, ve hangi işletme koşullarında erken kapasite bilgisinin dahadeğerli olduğunu belirlemektir. Bu tezde belli bir dönemde rassalolan talebi karşılamaya çalışan ve tedarikçisinin kapasitesilimitli ve rassal olan bir üretim/stok sistemi çalışmaktayız.Tedarikçinin kısıtlı sayıda gelecek dönem için kapasite bilgisinipaylaştığını varsayarak, bu koşullar altında üç farklı problemianaliz ediyoruz. İlk olarak müşterilerin talebi karşılayamamacezalarına göre sınıflandırıldığı, iki müşteri sınıfı olan birüretim/stok sisteminin tayın problemini inceliyoruz. Daha sonraortalama maliyet ölçütü altında erken kapasite bilgisine bağlısipariş politikalarının bulunması için sezgisel yöntemleröneriyoruz. Son olarak kapasitesi yeterli gelmediğinde dış kaynaklarkulanan bir üretim/stok sistemi için, erken kapasite bilgisininkapasitenin dağılımı olduğu durumda, bir sipariş politikasıtanımlıyoruz. Önerdiğimiz bu yöntemleri ve erken kapasite bilgisinikulanmanın karlılığını sayısal çalışmalarla analiz ediyoruz.

One of the most important challenges the inventory managers face isthe uncertainty on both sides of the demand and supply. Exchange ofinformation on both demand and capacity processes can decrease theuncertainty and it can be beneficial to all parties involved. Butthe quantification of the benefits of information sharing is noteasy. In this thesis our purpose is to see how managers utilize andintegrate available advance information on capacity into thereplenishment decisions, and identify the types of operatingenvironments under which Advance Capacity Information (ACI) is mostvaluable. We consider a production/inventory system that facesstochastic demand, with a supplier whose capacity is limited anduncertain. But the supplier has agreed on sharing the capacityinformation for a certain number of future periods. We considerthree different problems under these conditions. We first model therationing problem of a production/inventory system that servescustomers from two different classes, which are distinguished by thepenalty costs charged for unsatisfied demand. Then we study theordering policies under average cost criterion. We propose heuristicapproaches to calculate ACI-dependent order-up-to levels. The thirdproblem we consider is of a firm that uses outsourcing whenever thein-house capacity is not adequate. We propose an ACI-dependentorder-up-to level policy, where ACI is defined in terms of thedistribution of the in-house capacity. Through numerical studies wederive managerial insights with respect to the benefits of using ACIand the policies we propose.
