Özet
Tanzimat dönemi edebî nesrindeki üslûp değişmelerini ele aldığımız bu çalışmada dönemin edebî metinlerinde görülen üslûp değişmeleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu dönemle birlikte, Türk edebiyatının Batı'dan gelen yeni edebî türlerle karşılaştığı bilinmektedir. Yeni bir dil ve üslûp ihtiyacını da zorunlu kılan bu karşılaşma geleneksel alışkanlıklarla yeninin birlikte görüldüğü bir süreci doğurmuştur. Bu süreç aynı zamanda üslûbun çeşitlenmesini sağlamıştır.Çalışmanın birinci aşamasında üslûp konusunda teorik bir tarama, araştırma çalışması yapıldı. Elde edilen bilgiler bir araya getirildi. Çalışmanın yöntemi de bu bilgilerden hareketle oluşturuldu.İkinci aşamada ise dönemin edebî nesir dışında kalan nesir örnekleri değerlendirildi. Nesir dilindeki değişimi tarihî metinler, çeviri metinler, bilim-felsefe metinleri gazete yazıları üzerinden değerlendirdik.Tezimizin esas çalışma alanı olan edebî metinlerin üslûbu üç farklı kategori oluşturularak ele alındı: Roman-hikâye, tiyatro ve makale-deneme başlıkları altında edebî metinlerin üslubu incelendi. Eklektik bir yöntemin uygulandığı bu incelemede dönem yazarlarından örnekleme yoluyla türü ve yazarın üslûbunu temsil edeceği düşünülen eserler seçilmiştir. Yapılan değerlendirmelerde üsluptaki değişmeler, değişimin sebepleri ve sonuçları üzerinde durulmuştur.Bu üslûp incelemelerinin sonucunda dönemin edebî nesrinde, hem geleneksel anlatılardan gelen üslup özelliklerinin hem de Batı kaynaklı üslup özelliklerinin bir arada bulunduğu görülmüştür. Edebî dilin de zaman içerisinde bir değişim ve dönüşüm yaşadığı Tanzimat döneminde üslûpta çeşitli değişmelerin görüldüğünü ve ikilik olarak ifade edebileceğimiz bir üslup niteliğinin kendisini gösterdiğini tespit ettik.

In the thesis, I discuss the stylistic changes in the literary prose of Tanzimat Period, especially the stylistic variations in the literary texts of the period. In this period, Ottoman-Turkish literature was confronted with challenge of the new literary genres of the Western Europe. This challenge required a new literary language and style, and brought about a hybrid literary formation in which the ancient and the local was necessarily asssembled together with the new and the European.In the first part of the thesis, I review the literature and analyse the theoretical framework of the studies on stylistics in general. In this way, I reconstruct a workable framework for my method in the thesis.In the second part of the thesis, I discuss the works other than literary prose in the period. I analyse the changes in the language of prose through the historical texts, translated works, scientific-philosophical texts, and newspaper articles.In the essential part of the thesis, I discuss the style of literary texts through three different categories: Under the headings of the novel-story, theatre, and article-essay do I analyse the stylicstic characteristics of literaty texts. Using an eclectical method, the thesis selects works which could be thought as representative of the genre and authorial style. In mu discussion, I especially point out the reasons and consequences of stylistic changes in the Tanzimat period. Following an eclectical method of stylistics, I analyze the texts in terms of its vocabulary, description and sentence structures.In conclusion, I argue that the Tanzimat literature demostrates both the traditional and the modern (that is to say, Western European, specifically romantic and realist) traits in the stylistic preferences of the period together. I conclude that these new literary genres brought about a dualistic formation in the literary language which should be studied especially with reference to the stylicstic changes in the prose.
