Özet
Osmanlı Devleti'nin yıkılış sürecine ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kuruluşuna tanık olan Said Nursi, siyasi ve toplumsal problemlerle yakından ilgilenmiş, çözüm yolları göstermiş ve önerilerini de zamanın hükümet reisleriyle paylaşmış olan son yüzyılın önemli simalarından birisidir. Siyasal ve ekonomik meselelerin yanı sıra etnik akımların revaç bulduğu bu süreçte ihmal edilen toplulukların, özellikle Kürt halkının cehalet ve zaruretinin giderilmesi, cehalet ve fakirlikten doğan sıkıntıların, ayrışmaya ve merkezi yönetime karşı itaatsizliğe dönüşmemesi için ciddi çabaları ve girişimleri olmuştur. Bununla birlikte kaleme aldığı eserleri ve mektupları ile etnisiteyi teorik olarak tartışmış; Avrupa merkezli ayrıştırıcı bir toplumsal düzeni empoze eden milliyetçi akımlarına karşı Cumhuriyetçi bir tavırla yeniden yorumladığı siyasi geleneği canlandırmayı ve yüzyıllardan beri barış içinde değişik etnik kökenli toplulukları barındıran geleneksel toplumsal yapıyı yeniden inşa etmeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu çalışma Said Nursi'nin etnik meselelere yaklaşımı ile etnisite sorununa karşı geliştirdiği çözüm önerileri üzerine odaklanmakta ve bu önerilerin, genel manada küreselleşen dünyada, hususi manada ise Kürtlerin yoğun olarak yaşadığı Türkiye'nin doğu ve güneydoğu bölgelerindeki ?etnisite sorunu?na nasıl bir çözüm getirebileceği hususunu tartışmaktadır.

Witnessing the collapse of the Ottoman State and establishment of the Turkish Republic, Said Nursi is one of the important figures of the last century who was interested in political and social problems, proposed solutions and shared his proposals with leaders of the governments of the time. Along with the political and economic problems, in a time when ethnic movements had been in demand, he spent serious efforts especially for the removal of Kurdish people?s ignorance and poverty and for the troubles caused by poverty and ignorance not to turn into disintegration and disobedience against the central government. Moreover, he discussed ethnicity theoretically in his letters and works; he aimed to revive the political tradition which he reinterpreted in Republican manner against European-centred nationalist trends imposing disintegrating social order and to reconstruct the traditional social structure which has sheltered various ethnic communities for centuries in peace. This study focuses on Said Nursi?s approach to ethnic issues and his proposals against the ethnicity problem and discusses what kind of solution these proposals could offer for the global world in generally and for the eastern and south-eastern regions of Turkey where the majority of Kurdish population live in particular.
