Özet (Çeviri)

A sea trial was conducted in June 1993 on commercial fishing grounds some 10 - 20 miles north-west of Fraserburgh, in depths varying from 50 to 55 fathoms. The experiments were carried out aboard the commercial trawler“Golden West”and except for a possible cover effect and a shorter haul duration they occurred under the same condition as in fishing. Two different codends were tested by using covered codend method. The catch was filled into baskets with haddock separated from the rest. Then, all of haddocks were weighed and measured to the nearest cm. below. From the total distribution of the fish in the codend and cover of each haul, the expected frequencies at each length were found. Then these expected frequencies were compared to the observed frequencies using the chi-squared statistic. Referring to Table 2, results showed that particularly in cover, the ratio of the non- representative baskets can be very high. In the second set of analysis, the fit of the logistic selectivity ogive to data was examined by plotting residuals and weighed residuals from the curve against length. Then, eye fitting was carried out by taking weighed residuals into account (Fig. 7). The results showed that using the logistic selectivity ogive is quite reasonable for this set of data. Finally, in the last analysis, all combinations of the one codend and one cover basket were taken as representative of the haul. Then for L50s, variations due to the changes in the codend from haul to haul and variations due to unequal mixing of the catch in each haul, were compared with sampling variations (Table 5 and 7 ).
