Özet (Çeviri)

Electric Vehicles (EVs) are considered as viable solutions to mitigate fossil-based energy dependency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in transportation. As an energy importer country, the EVs have started to gain widespread attention in Turkey. However, the large-scale integration of EVs is likely to impose significant challenges to the existing power networks regarding the capacity of grid components. This dissertation aims to investigate the potential impacts of the widespread adoption of EVs into the distribution network in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. This study presents a conceptual structure to illustrate the effects of 5%, 10% and 20% adoption of EVs on the power network of Ankara. The power grid of a sample region in Ankara where mostly residential customers located was modelled in the DIgSILENT PowerFactory which is one of the prominent power systems simulation software. A particular charging strategy was implemented to all the EVs in order to reveal their impacts on network demand profile, grid voltage and loading of grid elements such as cables and transformers. The analyses of time series load flow in DIgSILENT PowerFactory has showed that the transformer of the sample grid has enough capacity to accommodate up to 20% EVs penetration, whereas there is an overloading and under-voltage issue with some critical elements regarding 5%, 10% and 20% adoption of EVs.
