Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Sosyal Bilgiler dersi içerisindeki Tarih konularının öğretiminde birinci elden kaynakların (kanıt) kullanılmasının, ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarısına ve derse olan tutumlarına etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın yöntemi karma yöntem olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu nedenle nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemleri beraber kullanılmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemi kapsamında ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen modeli yapılmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden ise eylem araştırması (aksiyon) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın yapıldığı öğrenciler, 2013-2014 eğitim-öğretim yılı içerisinde Muğla ili Menteşe ilçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı bir özel okulun 7. sınıfından seçilmiştir. Okulun 7. sınıf öğrencileri 20' şer kişilik 7A / 7B olmak üzere iki şubeden oluşmaktadır. Bu sınıflardan biri kura yöntemi ile deney grubu diğeri ise kontrol grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Deney grubu seçilen sınıfa ders kanıt temelli etkinliklerle, birinci elden kaynak kullanılarak işlenmiştir. Kontrol grubunda ise Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından belirlenen Sosyal Bilgiler dersi ders programına uygun ders işlenmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarına“Ülkeler Arası Köprüler”ünitesindeki konulara uygun çalışma yapılmadan önce ve çalışma yapıldıktan sonra başarı testi ve tutum ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizi için t- testi uygulanmış ve veriler SPSS ve ITEMAN programları ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma neticesinde deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulanan son başarı testi ve son tutum ölçeğinin analiz sonuçlarında deney grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık olduğu görülmüştür. Bu durum Sosyal Bilgiler öğretiminde birinci elden kaynak (kanıt) kullanımının Sosyal Bilgiler dersi ders programına yönelik öğretime karşı daha etkili olduğunu göstermektedir.Elde edilen bu sonuçlara göre Sosyal Bilgiler dersi tarih konularının öğretiminde birinci elden kaynak (kanıt) kullanılmasının yaygınlaştırılması ve birinci elden kaynak ve kanıtın diğer ünitelerde de kullanılması gerektiği söylenebilir.

The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of using first hand resources (evidences) in teaching History subjects within the Social Studies lesson upon academic achievements and lesson attitudes of 7th grade secondary school students. The research method was determined as mixed method. Thus, quantitative and qualitative research methods were used together. A quasi-experimental design model with pretest-posttest control group was performed within the scope of the quantitative research method. On the other hand, action research was used within the scope of the qualitative research method. Students that were included in the study were selected from the 7th grade of a private school of Muğla province Menteşe district National Education Directorate in the school year of 2013-2014. 7th grade students of the school consisted of two branches as 7A / 7B (20 students in each). While one of these classes was determined as experimental group, the other was determined as control group by lot. In the class that was selected as the experimental group, the lesson was taught with evidence-based activities by using first hand resources. In the control group, on the other hand, the lesson was taught in accordance with the curriculum of Social Studies lesson that was determined by the Ministry of National Education. A success test and an attitude scale were applied to the experimental and the control group before and after a study that was performed according to the subjects in the unit“Bridges between the Countries”. The data were analyzed by applying the t- test and using the SPSS and ITEMAN programs. As a result of the study, a significant difference was observed on behalf of the experimental group in the analysis results of the last success test and the last attitude scale that were applied to the experimental and the control group, which shows that the use of first hand resources (evidences) in teaching History subjects within the Social Studies lesson is more effective upon the curriculum-based teaching. According to these results, it is suggested to extend the use of first hand resources (evidences) in teaching History subjects within the Social Studies lesson and use first hand resources and evidences also in other units.
