Özet
Günümüz bilgi toplumunda bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri baş döndürücü bir gelişme göstermektedir. İnternetin bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinde yaşanan bu hızlı gelişme içerisinde en önemli faktör olarak yer aldığı görülmektedir. Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin en önemli uzantısı ve geliştiricisi olarak İnternet olgusu, dünya üzerinde insanoğlunun kurduğu en büyük ağ olma özelliğini göstermektedir. Bu araştırmayla günlük yaşamımızda giderek daha fazla yer alan İnternetin çevresel bazda olumlu ve olumsuz tüm yönleri incelenerek İnternet ve bilgi teknolojileri kaynaklı çevre sorunlarının çözümüne cevap aranmıştır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümde çevre ve İnternet kavramları anlatılmış, bilgi toplumu, yeni ekonomi gibi kavramlar ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümünde ise İnternet-çevre ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde İnternetin çevre sorunlarında ve çevrenin korumasındaki rolü üzerinde durulmuştur. Buna ek olarak İnternetin çeşitli çevresel uygulamaları değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın uygulama kısmı olan üçüncü bölümde ise İnternet kaynaklı küresel CO2 emisyonlarının, enerji tüketiminin en aza indirilmesi ya da hiç zarar vermeyecek şekle getirilmesi çözüm olarak Yeşil Bilişim ve yönetimi ile sanallaşma kavramları incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda İnternet ve bilgi teknolojileri kaynaklı çevre sorunlarının çözülmesi noktasında Yeşil Yönetim ile çevresel bilişim politikaları geliştirmelerinin gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In today's world information and communication technologies have been developing rapidly. Internet is seen as the most important factor which in this rapid developments in information and communication technologies. The most significant extentions and developer of the information and commucation technology shows the largest network of its kind established by human beings on earth. This research shows, Internet's pozitive and negative effects on environmental base. In addition this research find solutions for the problems which related to Internet and information tecnologies.In the first section of the study the environment and Internet concepts were described, concepts such as information society and new economy have been taken up in detail. In the second section the Internet-environment interactions were examined. In this section, environmental problems of Internet and its role in environmental protection were focused. In addition to this, a variety of environmental applications of the Internet has been evaluated. In the third section ( application part ) in order to minimize portion of energy consumption of the Internet or will never harm which caused CO2 emission, Green IT, management solution and virtualization concepts are examined. As a result of the research, at the point of resolving problems which releated to Internet and information technology, it has reached that the requirements of the development of the environmental policies and Green IT management.
