Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırma“Merhamet Yorgunluğu-Kısa Ölçek (MY-KÖ)'in Türkçe'ye uyarlanması ve yoğun bakım hemşirelerine verilen stres yönetimi eğitiminin merhamet yorgunluğuna etkisinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Materyal ve Metot: Araştırmanın ilk aşamasında metodolojik, ikinci aşamasında ön test son test yarı deneysel desen kullanıldı. Araştırma Mayıs 2017-Kasım 2018 tarihleri arasında Karabük Üniversitesi Karabük Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi'nde yapıldı. Araştırmanın evrenini belirtilen hastanede çalışan hemşireler oluşturdu. Araştırmanın ilk aşamasında örneklemi araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 128 hemşire oluşturdu. İkinci aşamasında ise örneklemi 24 yoğun bakım hemşiresi oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında ”Kişisel Bilgi Formu“, ”Merhamet Yorgunluğu-Kısa Ölçek“ ve ”Çalışanlar için Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği" kullanıldı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, yüzdelik, faktör analizi, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, wilcoxon işaretli sıralar testi, bağımlı gruplarda t testi, varyans analizi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Türkçe' ye uyarlanan Merhamet Yorgunluğu-Kısa Ölçek'in geçerli ve güvenilir olduğu belirlendi. Yoğun bakım hemşirelerinin düşük düzeyde ikincil travma (15.92±7.0); orta düzeyde mesleki tükenmişlik (32.75±16.40) ve orta düzeyde merhamet yorgunluğu (48.67±22.49) yaşadıkları sonucuna ulaşıldı. Stres yönetimi eğitimi sonrasında hemşirelerin son test ölçek toplam puan ortalamalarında, ikincil travma ve mesleki tükenmişlik alt boyutlarına ait puan ortalamalarında azalma olduğu ve aradaki farkın istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı olduğu belirlendi (p£0.01). Sonuç: Yoğun bakım hemşirelerinde stres yönetimi eğitiminin merhamet yorgunluğunu azaltmada etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşıldı. Stres yönetimi eğitim programlarının hizmet içi eğitimlerle sürekliliğinin sağlanması önerilebilir.

Objective: This study was conducted to adapt Compassion Fatigue-Short Scale to Turkish, and determine the impact on compassion fatigue of the stress management training that was provided to intensive care unit nurses. Materials and Methodology: The first phase of this study was conducted in a methodological manner while the second phase was conducted as a pretest-posttest quasi- experimental study. The study was carried out between May 2017 and November 2018 in Karabuk University Karabuk Training and Research Hospital. The population of the study included nurses who worked in this hospital. The sample in the first phase consisted of 128 nurses. The sample of the second phase consisted of 24 intensive care nurses. The samples in both phases were selected from those who agreed to participate in the study. The study data were collected using“Personal Information Form”,“Compassion Fatigue- Short Scale”, and“Professional Quality of Life Scale”. The data were analyzed using arithmetic means, standard deviation, percentages, factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, dependent samples t test, and variance analysis. Results: The study found out that the Turkish Compassion Fatigue-Short Scale is valid and reliable. In the study, intensive care unit nurses experienced a low level of secondary trauma (15.92±7.0), a moderate level of job burnout (32.75±16.40), and a moderate level of compassion fatigue (48.67±22.49). After the stress management training, there was a decrease in nurses' posttest total scale mean scores and the mean scores on secondary trauma and professional burnout subdimensions; the difference in these scores was statistically significant (p£0.01). Conclusion: The study concluded that providing stress management training to intensive care nurses was effective in reducing compassion fatigue. It may be recommended to ensure the continuity of the stress management education programs with in-service trainings.
