Özet
Gemlik Sunğipek Fabrika Yerleşkesi, yeni kurulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin ekonomik ve sosyal alandaki dönüşümüne katkı sunmuş önemli yapılardan biridir. Yerleşke, Genç Cumhuriyet'in kuruluş felsefesini yansıtması açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, yerleşke ve içinde yer alan lak hazırlama ve solvent geri kazanım binası araştırılmıştır. Tez beş bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, yerleşke Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi iktisat politikaları ve endüstriyel miras ekseninde değerlendirilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, tezin kamusal çerçevesinden bahsedilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, tezin materyal verisini sağlayan yerleşkenin tarihsel gelişiminden ve lak hazırlama ve solvent geri kazanım binasının işlev proseslerinden bahsedilmiştir. Materyallerin değerlendirme yöntemleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde, tezin bulgular kısmını oluşturan rölöve, restitüsyon ve restorasyon projeleri anlatılmıştır. Edilen bulgular eşiğinde yerleşkenin geçmişte üslendiği misyonu geleceğe taşıyabilecek bir konsept ile koruma projesi hazırlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Sonuç bölümde, Gemlik Sunğipek Fabrika Yerleşkesi bir bütün olarak korunması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır. Doğru işlev ve evrensel koruma ilkeleri ışığında hazırlanacak koruma projelerin benzer yapılar içinde örnek teşkil edeceği aktarılmıştır. Koruma konusunda ülkemizde evrensel değerlere sahip yasaların çıkarılması gerektiği, koruma kavramı sadece akademik bir öğreti ve dönemsel bir olgu olmadığı, merkezi yönetim, yerel yönetim, sivil toplum kuruluşları, medya vb duyarlılığı ve toplumun bilinçlenmesiyle bir bütün olarak ele alınması gerektiği anlatılmıştır.

Sunğipek Factory Gemlik Campus, the newly established is one of the most important structures contribute to the transformation of the Republic of Turkey's economic and social fields. The campus is important in terms of reflecting the founding philosophy of the Young Republic. In this study, the campus and the lacquer preparation and solvent recovery building in the campus were investigated. The thesis consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the campus is evaluated in the axis of economic policies and industrial heritage in the Early Republican Period. In the second part, the public framework of the thesis is mentioned. In the third chapter, the historical development of the campus which provides the material data of the thesis and the functional processes of lacquer preparation and solvent recovery building are mentioned. Information about the evaluation methods of the materials is given. In the fourth chapter, the survey, restitution and restoration projects which constitute the findings part of the thesis are explained. In the light of the findings, a conservation project has been tried to be prepared with a concept that can carry the mission of the settlement to the future. In the conclusion, Gemlik Sunğipek Factory Campus should be protected as a whole. It has been stated that conservation projects to be prepared in the light of correct function and universal conservation principles will set an example in similar structures. It has been explained that laws that have universal values in our country should be enacted in terms of conservation, the concept of conservation is not only an academic doctrine and a periodic phenomenon, but it should be handled as a whole with the sensitivity of central government, local government, non-governmental organizations, media and so on.
