- 17 - SUMMARY This study was -undertaken to investigate the effects of different storage methods and periods on the hatchabi lity of the chicken eggs. The hatching eggs of New-Hamp shire, Leghorn and the White Plymouth Rock were used in this work. One half of the eggs were held in polyetilen bags* and the other half were held at the rows under the same conditions of the storage room. All of the eggs sepa rated into four groups for the holding time before setting. The ep;gs in 1 at, 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th group were held befo re setting 1-4, 5-8, 9-11» 12-14 days respectively. The following characteristics were studied in this work: - The weight lose of the hatching eggs - The hatchability of fertile eggs - The hatchability of all eggs Set - Embrio mortality in Shell. - The weight of chicks at hatch. - The hatching time. The weight lose of the eggs stored, in polyetilen bags were lower than that of the other group. As the storing period was longer, the weight lose of eggs stored in rows was higher. The hatchability of fertile eggs in polyetilen bags was 2.6 percent higher than that of the eggs in rows.- 18 - Dead in shell and the chick weight at hatch were hot influenced by the storing methods and the storing periods.
