Özet
Bu tez, tekstil endüstrisinin TRB2 Bölgesi'ndeki ekonomik büyüme ve kalkınmadaki rolünü bölgesel kalkınma ekseninde analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Tekstil sektörü TRB2 Bölgesi'nde mekânsal bir yoğunlaşmaya neden olmuştur. Özellikle küreselleşmenin üretim yöntemlerinde bazı değişimlere yol açması, mekânsal süreçlerin yeniden kavramsallaştırılmasını zorunlu kılmıştır. Üretim süreçlerindeki değişiklikler nedeniyle yeni üretim yerleri arayışında belirli bölgelerde yoğunlaşan üretimin başka coğrafyalara yönelmesine neden olmuştur. Bu bağlamda mekânsal süreçlerin kavramsallaştırılması kalkınma kavramının da değişmesine neden olmuştur. Küreselleşme sürecinde ulusal ve uluslararası aktörlerin katılımıyla bölgesel bir kalkınma yaklaşımı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu bağlamda yerel ekonomilerin öne çıktığı bu değişim sürecinde tekstil sektörünün mekânsal dağılımının gelişiminde önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Bu açıdan bu tez ampirik olarak bölgede faaliyet gösteren tekstil firmalarının yerel ekonomideki rolünü göstermeyi amaçlayan bir çerçeve sunmaktadır.

This thesis aims to analyze the role of the textile industry in economic growth and development in the TRB2 Region on the axis of regional development. The textile sector has caused a spatial concentration in TRB2 Region. In particular, the fact that globalization has led to some shifts in production methods has made it necessary to reconceptualize spatial processes. Due to the changes in the production processes, the production concentrated in specific regions in the search for new places of production caused it to shift to other geographies. In this context, the conceptualization of spatial processes has led to a change in the development concept. In the globalization process, a regional development approach has emerged with the participation of national and international actors. In this context, development played a significant role in the spatial distribution of the textile sector in this change process in which local economies came to the fore. In this respect, this thesis presents a framework aiming to empirically show the role of textile companies operating in the region in the local economy.
