The phenomenon of abuse is one of the biggest problems of our time. Emotional abuse as a type of abuse is as injurious as the other types of abuse. Physical and sexual abuse is an attack on the body of the individual, and emotional abuse is an attack on the soul and the psychology of the individual. In this study, the relationship between emotional abuse perceptions of university students and their demographic variables are discussed. It is a descriptive study because the results obtained are interpreted as they are. In order to describe the current situation as it is, the screening model has been used. Based on the results of the obtained data, the data was tried to be defined by means of relational description. The sample of the research consists of the university students who continue their education at Eastern Mediterranean University in the 2016-2017 Academic Year. In the research, Demographic Information Form created by the researcher was used. In order to measure students' perceptions of emotional abuse, Perceived Emotional Abuse Perception Scale for Adults developed by Kurtman Ersanli, Müge Yılmaz and Kemal Özcan was used. As a result of the research, it was found that the perception of emotional abuse of Turkish and foreign students did not differ according to their ages; and that the perception of emotional abuse of Turkish students did not differ according to sex but there was a significant difference between the perception of emotional abuse and the gender among the foreign students. It was determined that the male students had a higher perception of emotional abuse than that of the female students. When the Turkish and foreign students were examined in general, the perception of emotional abuse by females was found to be lower than that of males by gender. It was found that there was a significant difference between the perception of emotional abuse of the Turkish students and the faculty at which they continue their education. It was determined that there was no significant difference between the perception of emotional abuse of the foreign students and their faculties. In General, Turkish and foreign students were found to have a significant difference between the perception of emotional abuse and the faculty they attended. It was found that there was no meaningful difference between the perception of emotional abuse and the grade of the Turkish and the foreign students. It was determined that there was no significant difference between the perception of emotional abuse and the mother education status of the Turkish and the foreign students. It was determined that there was a significant difference between the perceptions of emotional abuse and the education status of the father of the Turkish students. It was determined that there was no significant difference among the education status of the father for the foreign students. As a result that there was a significant difference between students' perceptions of emotional abuse and their nationalities; and as a result of the foreign students had a higher perception of emotional abuse than that of the Turkish students‟.
