101 6. SUMMARY The city of Siirt, because of its being in the passage of the East and the west, has been invaded continously region and handed on often. That's why, it has not had a stable pattern before and during islamic period, but in the reign of the Ottoman empire, it has reached a certain level of consistencey. We' studied the samples of religious and civilian architecture as a certain subject matter we made then documantary analysing then in their orijinal places, taking pictures and drawing then all. As it is valid for most parts of Anatolia, beliefs, traditions, culture exc. are principal factors (the social values such as) in the accurence of Siirt arhitecture hesiden the natural conditions. It's possible to see the features of many periods in the samples of religion archiculture, tozetle houses are generaly constructed as double storied in arkitectural samples.“Sofas”and rooms to be regarded as the most important parts of traditional houses in the region have the caharacteristic features of typical Turkish houses with respect to their arrangement and needs. The samples of religions architecture in Aydınlar have affected civilian architecture with respect to its ornemantation. In the last period, Ottoman influences are predominant in ornemantation. The architecture of Aydınlar generally conveys the features of Turkish architecture. The architecture of houses points out the existance of basic public culture and a subtle pleasure of art.
