Özet
Stratonikeia Muğla İli, Yatağan İlçesi, Eskihisar Mahallesi sınırları içerisinde Yatağan'dan Milas'a giden karayolunun 7 km ötesinde bulunmaktadır. Stratonikeia territoriumunda Neolitik dönemden günümüze kadar süre gelen yaşantı söz konusudur. Bu çalışmada“Stratonikeia Savunma Sistemi”ele alınmıştır. Stratonikeia antik kentinde bulunan savunma yapılarının, özelliklerini ve bunların Karia Bölgesi'ndeki savunma sistemleriyle benzerliklerini ve farklılıkları ele alınmıştır. Bu doğrultuda savunmayı oluşturan Hellenistik Dönem öncesi Kadıkulesi Sığınma Kalesi, bu yapıya entegre kapı, kule ve savunma duvarları, Hellenistik Dönem savunma sistemine ait savunma duvarları, kuleleri ve Roma Dönemi'nde surlardaki değişimle ona entegre edilen kapı çalışmamız dahilinde yer almıştır. Stratonikeia savunma sur plan ve tasarım, yapıların duvar örgü teknikleri, taktiksel ve savunma stratejileri açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Stratonikeia territoriumu savunma sistemi Arkaik Döneme kadar gitmektedir. MÖ 6.-5. yy'da bugünkü ismiyle Kadıkulesi zirvesinin üstünde, Idrias ve çevresindeki yerli nüfusun güvenliğini sağlayan“Kadıkulesi Sığınma Kalesi”yer almaktadır. Stratonikeia territoriumunun hakimiyetinin Seleukosların eline geçtiği MÖ 260'lı yıllarında sonra Kadıkulesi Sığınma Kalesiyle birlikte tasarlanan Stratonikeia Savunma Sistemi yaklaşık 3600 m uzunluğunda“Büyük Çevrim”plan tipinde tasarlanmıştır. MÖ 260'lı yılında yapımına başlanan Stratonikeia Savunma Sisteminin, kentin Seleukoslar tarafından MÖ 240'lardan sonra Rhodos yönetimine bırakılmadan ama kesin olarak şunu söyleyebiliriz ki V. Philip'in kenti ele geçirmek için surların önüne dayandığı MÖ 201 yılında savunma açısından surların bitirilmiş olması gerekmektedir.

Stratonikeia is located 7 km away from the highway from Yatağan to Milas within the borders of Eskihisar Neighborhood, Yatağan District, Muğla Province. In the territorium of Stratonikeia, there is a life that has been going on since the Neolithic period till the present day. In this study, the“The Defense System of Stratonikeia”is discussed. The characteristics of the defense structures in the ancient city of Stratonikeia and their similarities and differences with the defense systems in the Caria Region were discussed. In this direction, the Kadıkulesi Fluchtburg before the Hellenistic Period, which constitutes the defense, the gate, tower, and defense walls integrated into this structure, the defense walls and towers of the Hellenistic Period defense system and the gate integrated into it with the change in the walls in the Roman period were included in our work. Stratonikeia defense wall plan and designs with masonry techniques were evaluated in terms of tactical and defense strategies. The defense system of Stratonikeia territorium dates back to the Archaic Period. In the 6th-5th centuries BC, above the summit of Kadıkulesi with its current name, there is the“Kadıkulesi Fluchtburg”which provides security for the local population in and around Idrias. The Defense System of Stratonikeia, which was designed together with the Kadıkulesi Fluchtburg after the 260s BC when the dominance of the Stratonikeia territorium fell into the hands of the Seleucids, was designed in the“Geländemauer”plan type with a length of about 3600 m. The Defense of System Stratonikeia, the construction of which began in after 260 BC, is thought to have been finished before the city was left to the Rhodos administration by the Seleucids after 240s BC. We can say with certainty that the walls must have been finished in terms of defense in 201 BC when V. Philip came to the city walls to capture the city.
