Özet

Rekabet gücü; ülkeler, bölgeler, sektörler, sanayi bölgeleri ve firmaların başarılarının tanımlanmasında kullanılan ve temel stratejik hedef olarak referans alınan bir kavramdır. Küreselleşmeyle beraber günümüzde firmalar, sektörler ve ülkeler arasındaki ticaret için geçmişte var olan birçok engel ortadan kalkmıştır. Piyasa koşullarındaki bu hızlı değişim birçok firmayı çok daha rekabetçi ortama sürüklemiştir. Rekabet eden en anlamlı birim olan firmaların nasıl rekabet gücü elde edecekleri sorusu çağdaş ekonomi ve yönetim çalışma ve araştırmalarının odağına yerleşmiştir. Ahşap işleme makineleri üretimi, ülkemizde sanayileşmenin başladığı 1940'lı yıllardan beri mobilya ve diğer orman ürünleri endüstrisinin gelişimine paralel olarak ilerleme kaydetmiştir. Günümüzde bu alanda üretim yapan işletmelerin sayısı giderek artmakta ancak bu artış her sektörde olduğu gibi çeşitli yapısal sorunları beraberinde getirmektedir. Türkiye'de faaliyet gösteren ahşap işleme makine üretici işletmelerin yapısal özellikleri ve sektörün sorunlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla birçok çalışma yapılmış olmasına rağmen, sektörün uluslararası durumu ve rekabet gücü analizine yönelik bir araştırma bulunmamaktadır. Bu çalışmada ahşap işleme makinelerinin genel tanımlamaları ve sınıflaması yapılarak sektörün ülkemizdeki ve dünyadaki durumu, üretim, ihracat ve ithalat verileri ile ele alınmıştır. Veriler ülkemizdeki sektöre yönelik kamu ve özel veri kaynaklarından ve uluslararası veri kaynaklarından elde edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda ahşap işleme makineleri sektörünün ülkemizde önemli bir üretim sektörü olduğu, uluslararası ticarette artan bir potansiyelinin olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışma sonunda kamu ve özel sektöre yönelik olarak rekabet gücünün artırılmasına yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.

Competitiveness; ıt is a concept that is used to define the success of countries, regions, sectors, industrial zones and companies and is taken as a reference as the main strategic goal. With globalization, many barriers that existed in the past for trade between companies, sectors and countries have been removed. This rapid change in market conditions has driven many companies to a much more competitive environment. The question of how firms, which are the most significant competing units, will achieve competitiveness has been at the center of contemporary economics and management studies and research. The production of woodworking machines has made progress in parallel with the development of the furniture and other forest products industry since the 1940s, when industrialization began in our country. Today, the number of enterprises engaged in production in this field is increasing, but this increase brings along various structural problems as in every sector. Although many studies have been carried out to determine the structural characteristics of the woodworking machinery manufacturers operating in Turkey and the problems of the sector, there is no research on the international situation and competitiveness analysis of the sector. In this study, general definitions and classification of woodworking machines are made and the current situation of the sector in our country and in the world is discussed with production, export and import data. The data were obtained from public and private data sources and international data sources for the sector in our country. As a result of the study, it has been seen that the woodworking machinery sector is an important production sector in our country and has an increasing potential in international trade. At the end of the study, suggestions for increasing the competitiveness of the public and private sectors were presented.
