Özet
Kültür; toplumların gelişim süreçleri içerisinde gerçekleştirdikleri maddi ve manevi değerlerin tümü ve bu değerlerin kuşaklararası aktarımında çevresel olarak gösterdikleri etkinliklerin bütünü olarak ifade edilebilir. Toplumların veya bireylerin kimliğinin belirleyicisi ve diğer toplumlardan ayrışmasını sağlayan kültür; varlık gösterdiği toplumun dil, din, yazı, tarih, gelenek, edebiyat, sanat, zanaat, giyim, kuşam, üretim ve tüketim gibi tüm etkinlikleri kapsamaktadır. Şanlıurfa şehri özelinde kültür, kimlik ve giysinin karşılıklı oluşturdukları etkileşimin araştırıldığı bu tezde; giysi tasarımı oluşturma süreçlerinde biçim, hacim, form, doku, renk gibi öğelerin yerel malzeme ve tekniklerle nasıl şekillendirildiği irdelenmiştir. Tezin ilk bölümü olan giriş bölümünde tezin içeriği ve amacı belirtilmektedir. Girişten sonra gelen ikinci bölümünde ise kültür, kimlik, aidiyet, çok kültürlülük, kültürel kimlik, kültürel bellek, yerellik-evrensellik kavramlarının genel tanımlamalarına yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Şanlıurfa şehrinin kültürel yapısı, şehirdeki giysi kültürü, yerel malzemeler ve teknikler irdelenmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde ise giysinin işlevselliği ve kültürlerarası aktarımı, sanat, zanaat, moda ekseninde giysi örnekleri üzerinden yerel malzeme ve tekniklerin kavram oluşturmadaki etkileşimleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın beşinci bölümünde giysi tasarımında yerel malzeme kullanımı ve teknik çözümlemeler başlığı altında bölgeye özgü bir yerel üretim tekniği olan kazazlık seçilmiş ve incelenmiştir. Tekniğin giysi ile oluşturduğu yeni anlatımlar ise şehirde kuttuk denilen dirsek altı bir kol boyuna sahip ceket örneği üzerinden araştırılmıştır. Yerelden güncele bir çizgide rengin ön planda tutulduğu tasarımlarda malzeme, teknik ve yeni biçim arayışlarıyla yüzeylerde rölyefsi etkilerin yer aldığı kompozisyonlar oluşturulmuştur. Altıncı bölüm olan sonuç kısmında ise değerlendirmeler yapılarak çalışma tamamlanmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı sanat, zanaat ve tasarım platformlarında yeniyi yaratma süreçlerinde sıklıkla başvurulan giysi elemanlarnın, alışılmışın dışında yeni olanaklar sunan yerel malzemeler ve tenikler perspektifinden değerlendirilerek giysiyi süreç, form, malzeme, uygulanan teknik, biçim, işlev gibi olgular bakımından sorgulamaktır. Çalışma; merkezine yerel malzeme, teknik, el sanatları, giysi tasarımı konularını alan sonraki çalşmalara referans oluşturma amacıyla kullanılabilir. The culture can be expressed as the totality of material and spiritual values that societies realize during their development processes and the totality of the activities they perform environmentally in the transmission of these values between generations. Culture, which determines the identity of societies or individuals and distinguishes them from other societies; covers all activities of the society in which it exists, such as language, religion, writing, history, tradition, literature, art, craft, clothing, apparel, production and consumption. In this thesis, which investigates the interaction between culture, identity and clothing in the case of Şanlıurfa city, it is examined how elements such as shape, volume, form, texture and color are shaped with local materials and techniques in the process of creating a clothing design. In the introduction, which is the first part of the thesis, the content and purpose of the thesis are stated. In the second part after the introduction, general definitions of the concepts of culture, identity, belonging, multiculturalism, cultural identity, cultural memory, locality-universality are included. In the third section, the cultural structure of Şanlıurfa city, the clothing culture in the city, local materials and techniques are examined. In the fourth section, the interaction of local materials and techniques in creating concepts was emphasized by the functionality of clothing and its intercultural transfer, art, craft, fashion axis through clothing examples. Under the title of local material use and technical analysis in clothing design, a local production technique which is specific to the region, kazazlık was selected and examined. The new expressions created by the technique with clothing were explored through the example of a jacket called kuttuk, which has a sleeve length below the elbow in the city. In designs where color is prioritized in a line from local to current, compositions that include with the search for materials, techniques and new forms relief effects on surfaces have been created. In the sixth section, which is the conclusion, the study was completed by making evaluations. The aim of the study is to question the clothing in terms of processes, materials, applied techniques, forms, shapes, functions by evaluating the clothing elements that are frequently used in the processes of creating the new in art, craft and design platforms from the perspective of local materials and techniques that offer new opportunities outside the ordinary. This study can be used as a reference for subsequent studies which focus on local materials, techniques, handicrafts and clothing desing.
