Özet

Felsefenin en girift problemlerinden zaman, Aristoteles tarafından bir çeşit sayı olarak değerlendirildi ve bu anlayış, birtakım muammaları beraberinde getirdi. İbn Sînâ'nın zaman problemindeki özgün pozisyonu, bu muammaları çözme yolunda biçimlendi ve filozofu zamanın sayı olmasından ziyâde, mikdâr olarak tanımlanması gerekliğine götürdü. Her iki filozof da zamanı hem sayı hem de ölçü olarak nitelese de İbn Sînâ'nın selefleri problemi“sayı”kavramı ile kurdu; İbn Sînâ ise mikdâr kavramını ön plana çıkardı ve“sayı”kavramını geri plana itti. Bu tez, İbn Sînâ'nın aded'den mikdâr'a yönelişinin hangi konularda kendini gösterdiğini tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bununla birlikte çalışma, zaman probleminin fizik ilminde nasıl incelendiği, hareket ve zaman arasındaki irtibatın mâhiyeti, dehr ve ân gibi konularla detaylandırılmıştır.

Time the most intricate issue of the history of philosophy was considered as a number of movement by Aristotle and this understanding brought with it some enigmas. The original position of Avicenna on the problem of time was formed to solve these enigmas and led the philosopher to the need to define time as a magnitude rather than number. Although both philosophers describe time as both number and magnitude, Avicenna's predeccessors set up the problem with the concept of“number”; Avicenna, on the other hand, brought the concept of magnitude to the fore and pushed the concept of“number”into the background. This thesis aims to determine in which subjects Avicenna's bases time as a magnitude. In addition, the study is detailed with topics such as how the problem of time is examined in physics, the nature of the connection between motion and time, everlasting and now.
