This dissertation aims to reinterpret the contemporary transformation of theatre through the conceptual framework of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Throughout history, theatre has not only been an art of representation but also a dynamic space in which human existence, thought, and modes of communication are continually redefined. In the twenty-first century, however, the emergence of digitalization, network culture, and virtual realities has pushed theatre beyond its physical boundaries, giving rise to a multilayered ontological structure. This transformation dissolves the classical dramatic order, blurs the distinctions between actor and spectator, and transforms the stage from a fixed space into a folded, fluid, and constantly becoming field of experience. The research examines the four fundamental components of theatre—actor, spectator, space, and production—through Deleuze's key concepts of fold, rhizome, becoming, and deterritorialization. This theoretical lens moves theatre beyond a linear, centralized narrative system and redefines it as a decentralized, open, and interactive network. The main hypothesis asserts that theatre no longer emerges from fixed forms but from the continuity of becoming—each performance producing a new layer of existence, a new fold within the ontology of the stage. Within this scope, the dissertation attempts a theoretical approach trial called“fold Stage”. This dramaturgical approach breaks the linearity of dramatic structure and proposes a mode of thinking that interlaces time, space, and body into one continuous process. In this approach ● Time is no longer a linear progression but a multilayered plane; past, present, and future coexist as simultaneous folds of experience. ● Space is reconfigured as a topology where physical, virtual, and data-based layers coexist and interact. ● The actor transforms from the carrier of meaning to its producer, constructing presence through corporeality. ● The spectator becomes a co-creator of the dramaturgical experience, no longer a passive observer but an active participant. ● Production, in this context, is not a technical background but an essential component of the aesthetic and conceptual texture of performance. Methodologically, the study integrates theoretical and practice-based analysis. Productions such as Brazil's“Teatro e a Tela”(Theatre and the Screen) and the German collective Rimini Protokoll's Remote X and Situation Rooms are examined through a Deleuzian lens. In these works, the stage becomes a hybrid arena where physical and digital realities fold into one another, and the spectator enters the performance not only through bodily perception but also through data-driven interaction. These case studies demonstrate that theatre is undergoing not merely an aesthetic but an ontological transformation. The findings reveal that theatre today functions as an art of becoming rather than representation. Fold dramaturgy enables the production of thought through the simultaneity of corporeal, technological, and affective processes. It extends beyond Hans-Thies Lehmann's notion of postdramatic theatre by proposing a model grounded in the dynamics of becoming rather than the breakdown of textual hierarchy. In this framework, theatre operates as an open system that continually reconfigures itself through the interplay of human and non-human agents, data, and environments. Ultimately, this research repositions theatre within a Deleuzian ontology of folds, proposing that its future lies not in representation but in the ever-transforming dynamics of becoming. Theatre, thus, emerges as a philosophical and creative practice—an aesthetic mode of thinking that redefines the boundaries between body, technology, and thought. Each performance is a fold; within every fold, theatre rediscovers its own possibility of existence.
