Özet
Bu çalışma, toplumsal cinsiyetlendirilmiş mekânın, fiziksel göstergelerden çok, toplumsal olarak üretilen bir deneyim biçimi olduğunu savunmaktadır. Özel ve kamusal alan ayrımı, bu mekânların kullanıcılarını da ayrıştırarak toplumsal bölünmeyi mekân üzerinden yeniden üretmektedir. Toplumsal ilişkiler ağı içinde gerçekleşen mekânsal farklılaşmaya odaklanan bu çalışmanın birinci bölümünde bu ayrımın kavramsal netliği, mevcut yazının teorik çerçevesi kalıbında ortaya konulmuştur. Cinsiyet ayrımının en önemli mekânsal bağlamı olan ev içi alanının adaletsizleştirilmesi, cinsiyete dayalı iş bölümü üzerinden gerçekleşmektedir. Bu çalışma, bağlamsal bir örnek olan; özel ve kamusal alan arasında, ev içi emeği için bir müzakere alanı yaratan“ortak konut”modelinin kavramsal ve fiziksel keşfini gerçekleştirmiştir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, ortak konutun anlamsal bütünlüğü ve toplumsal karşılığını ortaya koymak adına sistematik bir tarama gerçekleşmiştir. Barınmanın ötesinde bir dönüşüm potansiyeli sergileyen ortak konutun, mekânın üretim sürecine dâhil ettiği bakım etiği ve ona bağlı mekânsal gereksinimleri, sosyal bir mimari idealini akla getirmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, bu sosyal mimari idealinin çevresel, yapısal ve mekânsal karşılıkları literatür tabanlı bir sentez ile ortaya konulmuştur. Bu ilke tabanlı fiziksel faktörlerin çeşitli jeopolitik bağlamlardaki karşılıklarını incelemek üzere, gerçek ortak konut birimleri nesnel bir seçim süreci doğrultusunda belirlenerek bir araya getirilmiştir. Sosyo-mekânsal incelemenin gerçekleştirildiği dördüncü bölümde, bakımı mekâna entegre etme ideali doğrultusunda, toplumsal cinsiyet değişkeninin izi sürülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonucunda sosyal mimari ilkeler tablosu, bakımın mekânsal kurgusu bağlamında yeniden yapılandırılmıştır. Bu kesişimsel çerçevenin, yalnızca ortak konutta değil, 'eşit bir toplum için eşit evler' hedefi taşıyan tüm konut projeleri için uygulanabilir bir veri referans seti sunması beklenmektedir.

This study argues that gendered space is a form of experience socially produced rather than a matter of physical indicators. The distinction between private and public space reproduces social division through space itself, by separating the users of these spaces. Focusing on spatial differentiation within the network of social relations, the first part of this study establishes a conceptual clarity of this distinction within the framework of the existing theoretical literature. The deprivation of the domestic sphere, the most important spatial context of gender discrimination, occurs through the gender-based division of labor. This study explores the conceptual and physical aspects of the“communal housing”model, a contextual example that creates a negotiating space for domestic labor between private and public spaces. In the second part of the study, a systematic survey is conducted to reveal the semantic integrity and social significance of communal housing. Exhibiting a transformative potential beyond mere shelter, communal housing, with its emphasis on care ethics and related spatial requirements within the production process of space, evokes a social architectural ideal. In the third part, the environmental, structural, and spatial counterparts of this social architectural ideal are presented through a literature-based synthesis. To examine the counterparts of these principle-based physical factors in various geopolitical contexts, real communal housing units were selected and assembled through an objective selection process. In the fourth part, where the socio-spatial analysis is conducted, the influence of the gender variable is traced in line with the ideal of integrating care into space. As a result of the study, the table of social architectural principles is restructured within the context of the spatial construction of care. This intersectional framework is expected to provide a data reference set applicable not only to communal housing but to all housing projects that aim for 'equal homes for an equal society.'
