Özet
Havariler, İsa tarafından öğretilerini yaymak için seçtiği on iki kişi olan Simun Petrus, Andreas, Zebedi oğlu Yakup, Yuhanna, Filipus, Bartalmay, Thomas, Matta, Alfay oğlu Küçük Yakup, Yahuda/Taday, Simon (Gayyur Simun) ve Yahuda İskariyot'u ifade eder. Yahuda İskariyot'un ihanetinden sonra onun yerine havariler tarafından Mathias seçilmiştir. Havariler içinde lider konumunda olup ön planda yer alan havari Petrus'tur. Bizans Tasvir Sanatında; Anıtsal Resim Sanatında, El Yazmalarında, İkonalarda, Litürjik Eserlerde, Mimari Plastik Eserlerde ve Mühürlerde on iki havarinin dönemsel olarak hangi eserlerde hangi sahnelerinde nasıl tasvir edildikleri ele alınmıştır. Daha önce çalışılmamış bir konu olması ve Türkçe kaynak azlığı nedeniyle Sanat Tarihi camiasına katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir.

The apostles refer to the twelve people chosen by Jesus to spread his teachings: Simon Peter, Andrew, James son of Zebedee, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Judas/Tadaeus, Simon (Simon the Unseen) and Judas Iscariot. After Judas Iscariot's betrayal, Mathias was chosen by the apostles to replace him. The apostle Peter is the leader among the apostles and is in the forefront. In Byzantine Depiction Art; Monumental Painting, Manuscripts, Icons, Liturgical Works, Architectural Plastic Works and Seals, it is discussed how and in which works and scenes the twelve apostles were depicted periodically. It is thought that it will contribute to the Art History community because it is a subject that has not been studied before and there are few Turkish resources.
