Özet
İnsanın Tanrı ile kurduğu ilişkinin neliği, insanlık tarihinin hem düşünsel hem de varoluşsal arayışını belirleyen en temel sorudur. Bu temel soruyu irdeleyen filozoflardan biri olan Eric Voegelin'e göre insan, yalnızca maddi ve toplumsal bir varlık değil, aynı zamanda aşkın olanla ilişki kurabilen manevi bir varlıktır. İnsanın Tanrı ile kurduğu bu ilişki, hakikat, düzen ve anlam arayışının temelinde bulunur. Sınırlı bir varlık olan insanın, aşkın olanla nasıl temas kurduğu sorusu doğrudan Voegelin'in çalışmalarının merkezinde yer alan“metaksi”(metaxy) kavramıyla ilişkilendirilir. İnsan, tanrısal olan ile maddi olan arasında sürekli bir gerilim içinde yaşar. Bu çalışmada,“arada olan”yani metaksi durumundaki insanın Tanrı ile ilişkisi, tarihsel süreçte geçirdiği dönüşümler bağlamında ele alınmış ve bu dönüşümlerin sebepleri açıklığa kavuşturulmuştur. Bu tezde, insanın varoluş halleri incelenmiş ve analiz edilmiştir. Mutlak Varlık'la ilişkisi bağlamında siyasal düzen arayışları irdelenmiştir. Voegelin'in din felsefesi açısından akıl, ruh, mit, felsefe ve vahiy ele alınarak bu konuların insanın Mutlak Varlık'la ilişkisini anlamadaki işlevleri tartışılmıştır. Bu çerçevede mistik sembollerin insan ruhunda hakikati sezme imkânı sunduğu ve bunun akılla temellendirilebileceği gösterilmiştir. Antik dönemde insan, akıl aracılığıyla; Orta Çağ'da vahiy, mistik ve ruhsal dönüşümle tanrısal olanla iletişim kurmuştur. Modern dönemde ise insan, Tanrı'ya bireysel bilinç ve öznel deneyim üzerinden yönelmiştir. Siyasetin dinî alanlara müdahalesiyle inanç ve tecrübe, toplumsal ve bireysel alanda yeniden dönüşüme uğramıştır. Bu dönüşüm sürecinde hakikatle bağı zayıflayan insan, anlam ve varoluş krizine sürüklenmiştir. Bu çalışmada, modern insanın Tanrı'yı hayatının merkezinden çıkardığı ve dünyevi kurtuluşu amaçladığı gösterilmiştir. Bu bağlamda ideolojilerin modern insanın bilincini etkilemesi ve aşkın olana yönelik ilginin zayıflaması tartışılmıştır. Modern bireyin Mutlak Varlık'la ilişkisinin zayıflamasının, hakikat bilinci ve toplumsal düzen üzerinde ortaya çıkardığı bireysel ve toplumsal sorunlar analiz edilmiştir.

The character of the relationship that the human being establishes with the Absolute Being constitutes one of the fundamental questions shaping humanity's intellectual and existential quest. According to Eric Voegelin, the human being is not merely a material or social entity, but also a spiritual being capable of participating in transcendence. The relation between the human being and the Absolute Being lies at the ground of the search for truth, order, and meaning. The question of how a finite human being comes into contact with transcendence is directly related to Voegelin's central concept of metaxy. The human being exists in a state of tension between the divine and the material, between immanence and transcendence. This thesis examines the relationship of the“in-between”human being—situated in the condition of metaxy—with the Absolute Being, analyzing its historical transformations and clarifying the causes underlying these shifts. Within the framework of philosophical anthropology, this study analyzes the existential modalities of the human being and investigates the quest for political order in relation to the Absolute Being. From the perspective of Voegelin's philosophy of religion, reason, soul, myth, philosophy, and revelation are examined in terms of their functions in articulating the human being's participation in the Absolute Being. In this context, it is demonstrated that mystical symbols enable the human soul to intuit truth, and that such intuition can be grounded in rational reflection. In antiquity, the human being related to the divine primarily through reason; in the medieval period, through revelation, mystical experience, and spiritual transformation; and in modernity, through individual consciousness and subjective experience. With the expansion of politics into the religious sphere, faith and religious experience underwent significant transformations in both social and individual domains. As the bond with truth weakened in this process, the human being was drawn into crises of meaning and existence. This study further demonstrates that the modern human being has displaced the Absolute Being from the center of life and oriented existence toward immanent, worldly forms of salvation. In this context, the influence of ideological constructions on modern consciousness and the gradual weakening of transcendental orientation are examined. The attenuation of the modern individual's relation to the Absolute Being is analyzed in terms of its consequences for truth-consciousness and for the constitution of social and political order.
