- 38.-; SUMMARY This study has been made on 60 outpatient children (aged bet ween 2 and 14 yr.) who had been routinely selected for outpatient gene ral anaesthesia were allocated randomly to two equal groups to receive either Hal othane or Isoflurane. And cardiac, breathing & bleeding comp lications were recorded which those two volatil anaesthetics caused. Meanwhile, postoperative complications like dizziness, coughing, vomi ting were observed.Thus.it was studied that outpatient children who were operated dental surgery would recover in the safest way and in the shortest period by using which volatil anaesthetic. It was founded that the effect of either Halothane or Isoflurane on the cardiac and breathing were nearly the same. In both groups, a complication was not seemed which would cause an important de 1 ay., In Isoflurane group, it was stated the period of induction and awakening was obviously shorter rather than Halothane group. Moreover, it was stated that in «Isoflurane group» bleeding and coagulation period were shorter rather than Halothane group. The results were observed that in outpatient dental, surgery, Isoflurane can be recommended instead of Halothane.
