Özyiğit Ercan, Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Doç.Dr.M.Ayşe İnal, Toplumsal İktidar ve Haber Medyası : Gazi Mahallesi Olaylarının Basında Sunumu, 191 s. ÖZET Bu çalışmanın konusunu toplumsal iktidar bağlamında İstanbul'da Alevilerin bulunduğu kahvehanelere yapılan silahlı saldın sonucu gelişen toplumsal olayların yazılı basında sunumu oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Alevi-Sünni çatışmasından korkulduğu için ulusal güvenlikle ilgili kriz durumu olarak değerlendirilen bir konuda medyanın toplumsal rolünün sorgulanması amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca devlet-medya ilişkilerine yönelik bir bakış açısı oluşturulmaya ve Türkiye de toplumsal iktidar gruplarının varlıklarını ve ilişkilerini nasıl sürdürdüklerine ilişkin genel bir perspektif ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Uç bölümden oluşan kuramsal kısımda“Liberal Çoğulcu Yaklaşımda Medya ve Haber”1 başlığı altında çoğulcu toplum yapısında basından beklenen toplumsal misyon tartışılmıştır.“Eleştirel Yaklaşımlarda Medya ve Haber”başlığı altında,“toplumsal iktidar”ve“ideoloji”kavramları üzerinde durularak medyanın ideolojik işlevleri ve toplumsal yeniden üretimdeki rolüne yer verilmiştir.“Haber Anlatısı ve Haberin Dili”başlığı altında ise Eleştirel yaklaşımlarda haber dilinin nasıl anlaşılması gerektiği ve anlamın nasıl oluştuğu tartışılmıştır. Söylem analizi yapılırken, haberlerde öne çıkan temalara, kurulan karşıtlıklara, oluşturulan nedenselliklere, sözcük seçimlerine, haberlerin cümle yapılarına, kullanılan haber kaynaklarına, fotoğraflara ve haberde İnanırlığın sağlanması için kullanılan tekniklere bakılmıştır.

Ozylgit Ercan, High License Thesis, Doç.Dr.M.Ayşe İnal, Social Power and News Media : Presentation of Gazi District events, 191 pp. SUMMARY The subject of this work comprises of the presentation of the social events that evolves as a result of the the armed attck that are made to the coffee houses, where the Alevi's in Istanbul is existent, within the context of the being in the social power in the written press. The investigation of the social role of the media in a matter, which is being evaluated to be a crisis situation that is conflict is being afraid of. Apart from this, the fonmation of a angle of view, directed towards the state and media relations and a general perspective, in relation to the existance of the social groups of power in Turkey and how they carry out their relations are tried to bu put forward. The social mlsson that is expected from the press within the pluralist structure oftiie society, under the headline of“Media and News in the Liberal Plurasilt Approach”in the theoretical part that comprises of three sections-The ideolojical functions df the media ant its role in the social reproduction is taken care of, by steressing the“ social being in power”ant the“Ideology”concepts, under the headline of“Media in the Criticising Approaches”. Whereas, how the language of the news in the Criticising approaches and how its meaning is formed has been discussed under the headline of“The Telling of News and Languange of News”. The Priority has been left to the themes that emerge in the forefront of the news, to the discrepencies that are established, to the reasonings tirat are formed, to the selection of words, to the structures of the sentences of the news, to the sources of the news used, to the photograps and tor the provision of being pemasive in the news, while the analysis of the message/expression.
