Özet
Ill ÖZET Öncelikle toplumsal bellek kavramı irdelenmiş, ardından toplumsal belleği etkileyen, değiştiren, yönlendiren etkenler sıralanmıştır. Bellek söz konusu olduğunda hatırlama ve unutma pratikleri göz ardı edilemez. Hatırlanan anılar ve deneyimler bellekte yer etmeden önce onlara dair algılama süreçleri yaşanır. Deneyimlerimiz dış dünyanın algılanmasıyla ilişkilidir. Algılama ve anlamlandırma pratikleri de bilinçten ayrı düşünülemez. Bu bağlamda bilinç ve dil ilişkisine değinilmiştir. Çünkü her bilinç edimi bir yönelim bir seçimdir. Bilinç kavram ve simgelerle doludur. Bu yüzden kavramlara ve simgelere yani anlam üreten göstergelere bakılmıştır. Toplumsal belleği etkileyen siyasi, yapısal ve kültürel dinamikler arasında oldukça etkili olan sinemanın, bireylerin bilişsel paradigmaları ve gündelik yaşamları üzerindeki belirleyici etkisi irdelenmektedir. İzlenen filmler algılama, anlamlandırma, bellek, davranışlar ve düşüncelerde etkilidir. Çünkü hepsi içinde toplumsal değerleri, kodları ve ideolojiyi barındırır. Bu bağlamda bir toplumun içinde bulunduğu yönetim ve üretim ilişkileri kültürel ürünlerini ve değerlerini de etkiler. Toplumsal davranışları ve onların mümkün sonuçlarını yönlendiren iktidar kendini meşru laştıracak ve devamlılığını sağlayacak ideolojisini de üretir. Bu ideolojinin içsel leştirilmesini sağlayacak fiziksel, çevresel, teknolojik, iletişimsel, sanatsal dönüşüm ve oluşumları da beraberinde getirir. Bu çalışmada bellek üzerinde etkili olan iktidar, ideoloji, hegemonya, modernizm, postmodern izm, küreselleşme, teknoloji, kültür endüstrisi, dil, medya ve sinema gibi temel kavramlar incelenmiştir. Sinema, içinde bulunduğu gerçekliği temsil eder, bu gerçekliğe ait değerleri izleyenlere aktarır.

IV SUMMARY This study deals primarily with the concept of social memory and the factors which affect, change or direct it. When we deal with memory, we should take remembering and forgetting in to account. We live through processes of perception before memories or experiences to be remembered take their place in our mind. Our experiences are related to the way we perceive the outer world. Perception and signification cannot be dealt with seperate frim the consciousness. This study also examines the relation between the consciousness and language. Every act of consciousness signifies a tendency, a choice made by the individual members of the society. Consciousness consists of concepts and signs. For this reason signs that reproduces meanings of concepts and signifiers are to be examined. The impact of cinema on the individuals' cognitive paradigms and on everyday life, being an effective element among political, structural and cultural dinamics which affect social memory is also dealt with. Movies affect perception, signification, memory, behaviour and thoughts. All these categories consist social values, codes and ideologies. The administrative and production relations of a society determines the cultural products and values of that society. Power which shapes social behaviours and values also produces the ideology which will enable to justify and sustain itself within a given social context. This process results in physical, environmental, technological, communicative, artistic transformations and formations which helps the ideology to be internalized. In tli is study fundemental concepts closely related to memory like power, ideology, hegemony, modernism, postmodernism, globalisation, technology, cultural industry, language, media and cinema film industry are examined. Cinema is perceived as representing the reality in which it takes place; it transacts the values of this reality to the viewers; in this case in the example of Turkey.
