A retrospective study has been carried out between the years of 1978 and 1982. The reports and ECGs of 291 acute myo cardial infarction patients has been evaluated. General features ( age, sex, infact location, stay at the hospital etc.)» compli cations, mortality and causes of death have been established. General features of the patients did not differ signif icantly from other investigators' reports. The incidence of all complications of AMI, except RBBB, have been found significantly lower than other investigators, probably because of lack of mon itor and delay of diagnosis. Mortality rate was 19-59 %% which did not differ significantly from most of other published re ports. We concluded that delay of admission was the most impor tant factor lowering the mortality rate. As usual, cardiogenic shock was the leading cause of death ( 38.6 % ). In a signifi cant percentage of patients who died ( 40.35 % ) the cause of death was unknown.
