Özet (Çeviri)
Mimar Sinan built Şehzade Mehmet Complex between 1544 and İ548 by order of Süleyman the Magnificent.- The first plan of this complex consists of a central dome mosque, the tomb of Prince Mehmet, a madrasa, a (abhane, an imaret (a cook-house for distribution of food to the poor), a sıbyan mektebi (school of childeren) and a fountain. This thesis tries to fix the recent state of the complex's buildings. Besides it clarifies the alterations and restorations of the complex' buildings until today. After taking the necessary work permissions from societies, the photos, and documents of this complex kept in the archives of 'istanbul I Numaralı Kültür ve Tabiat Varlıklarını Koruma Kurulu' and 'istanbul Vakıflar Bölge Müdürlüğü' have been examined. The facts like what kind of restorations have been done in this complex, which methods and materials have been used in these restoration and whether they were made according to conclusions of a scientific comitee, have been proved. The result of this examination have confirmed that cement was used in the plaster, pointings and plaster-glasses {revzeri) of the complex's buildings during the restorations in 1960. The restorations made between 1986-1987 after 1990 in the upper roof vaulting system as well as in the limestone walls of the complex's buildings have been dealt. Further the restorations of the wooden doorsand windows' shutters, painted and stuco inlayed decorations have also been examined. It came out that in these restorations lead was used instead of cement in the upper roof voulting system of the complex's buildings. Imitation stones were used instead of limestone. The restorations of the painted decorations have been made according to the datums found after scraping their surfaces. The wooden doors or window shutters have been remade or restored.IX The thesis concludes that the.different tissues of limestones and imitation stones do not give a beatiful appearance. The different epoch styles of the painted and stuco decorations hinder the perception of the mosque's space. Further it states that many restorations have been done without having scientific conclusions made [n'lslanhid I Numaralı Kültür ve Tabiat Varlıklarını Koruma Kurulu'. There exist only some financal informations related to them, in the files of 'Istanbul Vakıflar Bölge Müdürlüğü '.
