77 ABSTRACT Currently when it has reversed from national history to local history. According to us the most important resource is the (local press and its materials). From the first time it was published until 21th October 1957-1961 İkinisan Gazetesi (Newspaper) has observed and focused on all to events which has occured both in the world and in the Turkey as well as the ones occured in our region. By considering value of newspaper in understanding social events accurances and by reflecting the problems from social life and economical life and so on ikinisan Newspaperis estimated as the main factor about its ews and write ups which appeared in its periot of 1957-61. Furthermore we shouldn't forget that, that is the main point of research. As the view of îkinisan Newspaper is the view of people who lived in that periot will be able to understand the previous time of 1957 and later Van's stuations. Newspaper ia one of the most important item which can be used in creation of sensitive environment. Another important side of our newspaper is that; it played an important role in creation of public opinion in Van between 1957-61. These cases have been tried to be given to public not only by scanning numbers of published newspapers but also by evaluation of oral and written materials. In period of the time given to us I mean 1957-61 we followed the events which took place both in the world and in our country in a cronological order and looked into the view of ikinisan Newspaper. But we couldn't come across diversity of resources which interacted events and developments taken place in this period beside this we got down to reach local newspapers and solve what we talked about by companing with them. Trying of such a system is releated to the fact that there is no an alternative evaluation.
