Özet

THE RESEARCH ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF LAMINATED WOOD BEAMS WHICH ARE PRODUCED FROM THE PINUS SILVESTRIS THAT GROWS m TURKEY SUMMARY Today, it is highly important to show careful attention on the materials, which can satisfy the properties as, being not have any harmful effect on environment, and have high energy efficiency, moreover that do provide and support the natural balance. Consequently on one hand the architectural design, on the other hand the sustainability of used materials, are totally important at the same time. In this condition the wood comes to screen as a unique sustainable construction material with its superlative properties. Wood had been one of the primal materials in construction. It had firstly used by man, the intelligent of both species on earth, for his primitive sheltering buildings. By developed technologies in all over the world, small pieces of wood can be glued and used for many purposes, like passing through large open spaces, giving many kinds of shapes, eliminating the waste of wood. This important material, new usage form of wood is called as glued-layered (laminated) wood in present days design world. Although it is recently known in Turkey, glued-layered (laminated) wood technology had already been used in Europe and America for many years. When we observe and analyze the production of construction materials in main user countries which had been using the glued-layered wood technology for many years, we see that quickly renewable pineal pine species have mostly been chosen. Taking this information into account, Pineal pine species in Turkey have been analyzed, and found out that pinus silvestris would be the optimistic choice for production. For proving this analyze and improving its availability, a study have been performed for finding the performance changes on beam production xvof pinus silvestris, which had been produced in Turkey, applied with different kinds of glues on required experimental observations, moreover testing its application areas and mainly feasibility on production in Turkey. Performed study, prepared for specified purposes, include five sections. The purpose, the subject, the objective, the scope and the results of this study defined and given as advance information in the first section, and explanation of laminated wood technology; literature on its history, production methodology, the species and the application fields of construction materials of this technology are given in the second section. In section three, advance experiments; showing the properties of pinus silvestris, the properties of glues, and availableness of suggested torment system, have been made and suggestions the results are told for lighting the way of real experimental study. The schedule and production of real experimental study have been made. The experiments on prepared examples and their results are given in this section too. In section four, the results of experiments that are performed in section three are evaluated and investigated for defining if the researched material in these experiments could be taken from inland produce materials, and the decisions on its availability of application and production in Turkey's proper conditions are taken. In the fifth and the last section, according to findings from real experimental results and related suggestions are given. Moreover the condition of getting over the main difficulties of study and advanced research issues on studied subject are explained. XVI
