After the Republic Announcement at Turkey in 1923, the autorities hadattempted to the multi-party system two times in 1946. There were a commencementto the multiparty system in reply of the reciprocity to Soviet Russian threat that cameinto view at the end of the Second World War and a necessity of the closeness withthe occidental countries and their compulsion. Democratic Party that appeared fromthe Republican Folk Party has obtained the control after the election of 1950. Thequarrel that between these parties is reflected to the folk exactly.These contradictions were effective in Adapazan-Sakarya Region at the sametime. The local and general election of Sakarya were a contradiction betweenDemocratic Party and Repubican Folk Party. At the general election of 1946,member of Republican Folk Party were at the assembly but after the general electionof 1950, the deputies of Democratic Party were representatives of the city at theconci! three periods uninterruptedly. Generally, at the local elections of this regionthat made from 1950 to 1960, Democratic Party acquired a serious success.On 1954, in as much as the socio-economic developments of Adapazarlcounty that relate to Kocaeli province, Sakarya city was found at this district. Afterthe foundation of Sakarya City, a significant development was started on the angle ofeconomy, adminisration and social in this district. Especially, the educationalprogresses of the city were actually timely, for example there aren't a school withoutteacher and a village without school. During 10 years, the inhabitants of Sakarya hassupported to Democratic Party. After the revolution of 27 May, these inhabitantsdidn't abstain to prop up for new administration. Jeopolitic and historical importanceof Sakarya city has been keep going nowadays.
