This investigation covers the examinations on structural propertiesof functional fisheries located on the Turkish Coastline, and efforts shoudbe done in short or long period for modernisation of Homa Fishery(SUFA) which is managed by Fisheries Faculty of Egean University.For this purpose, the importance of the lagoons in Turkish fisherieswere expressed by bringing up the real stuation which come out from theinspection of researches on functional lagoones of Turkey done to thepresent time.Besides that, proposals and informations about the activities toincrease the productivity and modernization of catching chambersystems were suggested by considering the problems of Homa LagoonZKLFKLVDQDFWLYHILVKHU\LQø]PLU%D\Therefore, it was suggested that the wooden stakes and bamboofences should be replaced by cement poles which are made of non-corrosive materials such as metallic or plastic and easy to install.Also, the necessity of enlargement of the stone barriers which keepopen the reconstructed ford bridges between the straits and the way offishery, to maintain the water circulation on both directions to allow fishmigrations between marine and lagoon and keep the attractions of seaILVK WR .ÃUGHQL] DQG *UHDW /DJRRQV DV ZHOO DV WR SUHYHQW ZDWHU TXDOLW\and especially extremes in salinity in the fishery were revealed.Additionally, to discontinue the often deconstraction of the 5 km.road connecting the fishery building and main land by strong southwestwinds, and the necessity of reconstraction of durable barriers byplacement of rock material to the marine side of the road were declared.
