Özet
Bu çalışmada, otomobil koltuk döşemeliğinde kullanılan kumaş yapılarının fiziksel özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Öncellikle teknik tekstillerin otomobiller içersinde hangi kısımlarda kullanıldığı, bu endüstride kullanılan tekstil materyallerinin özellikleri, otomobil koltuk döşemeliklerinin teknik tekstil pazarı içersindeki yeri üzerine literatür araştırılması yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci aşamasında, otomobil koltuk döşemeliklerinin üretiminde kullanılan yeni teknolojilerin incelenmesi amacıyla, bu alanda Türkiye'nin en büyük firmalarında çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Deneysel çalışmada ise, bu firmalardan temin edilen otomobil koltuk döşemelik kumaşlara, otomobil üreticileri tarafından en çok önem verilen kopma mukavemeti, yırtılma mukavemeti, aşınma dayanımı, hava geçirgenliği ve ışık haslığı deneyleri uygulanmıştır. Tezin son aşamasında ise, deneysel çalışmada elde edilen verilerin istatistiki değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Değişkenler arasında doğrusal bir korelasyonun olup olmadığını görmek için istatistiksel hipotezler test edilmiştir. Eğer bir korelasyon varsa bağımlı ve bağımsız değişkenler arasındaki ilişki belirlenmiş ve ayrıca kalitatif değişken seviyelerinin etkinlik derecesinin ne olduğu araştırılmıştır.

In this thesis, the physical properties of the fabrics used for automotive seat covers were investigated. Firstly, the studies in the relevant literature for determining where the technical textiles are used for automotive trims, the properties of textile materials used fort this industry and the share of automotive seat covers in technical textile market were reviewed. In the second part of the study, to investigate the new technologies used in the manufacturing of automotive seat covers, some works are conducted in the biggest companies of Turkey. In the experimental part of the study, some tests such as tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion resistance, air permeability and UV resistance, which are the mostly important for automotive seat cover manufacturers, were applied to the fabrics provided by these companies. Finally, the data obtained from experimental studies were evaluated statistically. Statistical hypothesis were tested to see whether a linear correlation between the variables is exist; the relation between the dependent and independent variables was determined in the case of existence of correlation; the main effects of the qualitative variables was also examined.
