Özet
Turizm günümüz dünyasında ekonomik ve kültürel katkıları göz önüne alındıgında en önemli endüstrilerden birisidir. Faydalananın ve hizmet görenin insan oldugu, aynı anda aynı yerde bulustugu ve büyük ölçüde yüz yüze iletisimin söz konusu oldugu bir sektördür. Turizm, ekonomik etkisi halka en çabuk yansıyan sektörlerin basında gelmektedir. Bunun temel nedeni, emek yogun bir sektör olusudur. Turizm sektörüne giren tüm gelir, turizm sektöründe istihdamı direk, diger sektörlerde ki istihdamı ise dolaylı olarak etkilemektedir. nsanların turizm alanında istihdam edilmesi ve bunun için gerekli becerilere sahip olmaları ülke turizminin gelisimi açısından oldukça önemlidir. Turizmin ekonomik etkisinin artık tartısılmayacak kadar büyük boyutlarda oldugu ve ülke ekonomilerinin neredeyse can simidi haline geldigi bu dönemde turizm egitiminin göz ardı edilmemesi gerekmektedir. Türkiye'de turizm egitiminin yaygın ve örgün egitim kurumlarında devam ettigi ve ilkögretim müfredatından baslayıp ortaögretim, lisans, lisansüstü ve doktora egitimleri ile akademik düzeye ulastıgı bilinmektedir. Bu çalısmanın amacı turizme ara eleman yetistirmek amacıyla egitim ögretime devam eden Anadolu Otelcilik ve Turizm Meslek Liselerinin egitiminin yeterliligini, tespit etmek AOTML stajyerlerinin ve mezunlarının isletmelerin beklentilerini karsılama düzeylerini, bu alandaki kariyerlerine iliskin beklentilerini belirlemektir. Bu amaca yönelik hem stajyer ögrenciler hem de isletmelerle yapılan çalısmalar harmanlanarak Türkiye'de AOTML'lerin ara eleman yetistirme açısından ne kadar etkili oldugunu ve sektörün ihtiyaçlarına cevap verebilirliklerini ortaya koymak hedeflenmektedir. Hem isletmelerde hem de AOTML'lerde eksiklikleri gidermek için ortaya konulabilecek çözümler hakkında bilgi verilmektedir.

Today tourism is one of the most important industries concerning its contribution to the economy and culture of a country. It?s an important industry where people come together in a particular place at a particular time and get service; there is a face to face relation and communication. Tourism is also one of the leading industries economical effect of which on people can immediately be observed. The main reason for this is that tourism is a labor-intensive industry. The whole income affects the employment directly in this sector and indirectly in another. It is of vital importance for the development of tourism in a country to employ people who have the necessary knowledge and skills in this area. The economical contribution of tourism is now indisputable therefore the tourism education shouldn?t be ignored or neglected in any way. In Turkey, tourism education starts from primary school and continues with the high school up to academic level leading to postgraduate degrees. The purpose of the study is to identify the efficiency of the education given in Anatolian Vocational High Schools of Hotel Management and Tourism where new staff is being educated and trained for the sub sectors of the tourism industry; the qualifications of the trainees and the graduates of this school and also their future expectations from this industry. This study tries to find out how effective the Anatolian Vocational High Schools of Hotel Management and Tourism are in meeting the needs for potential new personnel in and training them for future. This study also offers some suggestions to overcome the shortcomings and the problems both in enterprises and in Anatolian Vocational High Schools of Hotel Management and Tourism.
