Özet
Luigi Pirandello, XX. yüzyıl İtalyan yazınında birçok yapıtıyla önemli bir yer elde etmiş bir yazardır. Sicilyalı bir yazar olan Pirandello'nun yazınsal kimliği üniversite yıllarını geçirdiği Almanya'nın Bonn kentinde biçimlenmeye başlamış, yazar tüm yazın türlerinde kendini denemiş, gerek şiir, gerek öykü ve roman, gerekse tiyatro oyunları yazmıştır. Tiyatro oyunları ona ün kazandırmış olsa da bu oyunları besleyen gerçekte öykü ve romanlarıdır.Bu araştırmada, yalnızca yazarın tiyatro metinleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Tezde üç ana bölüm bulunmaktadır. İlk bölümde, yazar, genel olarak yaşamıyla, görüşleriyle ve yapıtlarıyla incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde, yaşamındaki ana evreler başlıklar halinde sınıflandırılarak, o evrelerde yazarın hem özyaşamsal, hem de yazınsal gelişimi anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde ise, Pirandello'nun yazın kimliğinin ayrıntıları incelenirken, onun tiyatro yapıtlarına değinilmiştir. Toplam otuzyedi tiyatro oyunun konularıyla özetlenmiştir.Gerek eleştirel yaklaşımlarda, gerek oyunların aslında bulgulanan kadın figürü tezin ana teması haline gelmiştir. Bu nedenledir ki, üçüncü bölüm başlığı olarak kadın figürü belirlenmiştir. Ancak otuzyedi oyunun otuzyedisinde de bu temayı incelemek olanaksızdır, bu nedenle bu konu yalnızca belli başlı oyunlarında ele alınmıştır.Yazar, kadını her haliyle, tüm gerçekleriyle oyunlarına yerleştirmiştir. Ona dışarıdan bir insan gözüyle bakmış, yaptıklarından ötürü kimi zaman öfkelenmiş, kimi zaman onu desteklemeye çalışmıştır.Özyaşamında da önemli yeri olan annesi, karısı ve oyunlarında rol alan aktris, Pirandello'nun tiyatrolarının konularında da kadına yer vermesinde çok büyük etken olmuştur. Oyunlarda da karşımıza çıkan kadın, gerek anne, gerek bir eş, gerekse bir metres olabilmektedir. Bu araştırmada da, bu kadınların durumuna, ne biçimde oyunlarda yer aldığına yer verilmiştir.

Luigi Pirandello is one of the authors that has an important place because of his works of art in the Italian Literature of the XXth century. The Sicilian author Pirandello?s author personality was formed at the city of Bonn, in Germany. The author tried writing in every sort of literature; wrote poems, short stories, novels and at last theaters. Even if he became famous with his theaters, these plays are basically nourisched with his short stories and novels.In this study, I examined the plays only. There are three main parts of the study. The first main title is about the autobiographical elements, the thoughts and the works of this author. In this part, every different but important period of his life is given as a title. In these parts, I tried to explain in details the main events of his personal life and the effects of these events on his works as a writer. In the second main part of the thesis, I observed his author personality giving examples about his novels, poems etc. But the main research is about his theaters, so I examined all of the thirtyseven plays, I wrote their main themes making a summary.According to what the researchers and the critics say, I found how important was the woman figure in the plays of Pirandello. Because of that I decided to make the main theme of the thesis `the woman figure in his theater?. This theme takes place as the third main part of the study. It was quite impossibile to analize in every play this theme, therefore I chosed some of his plays to examine the theme.The writer, puts in the plays the woman with all of her condition or state, Looks at her like someone out of her life, he sometimes grows angry at her about what she does or sometimes he tried to help her and support her.The most important reason why the author gives place to women in his plays is the role of his mother, his wife and the actress that took part in his theaters. The woman that we find in his plays may sometimes be a mother, a wife and sometimes a lover. And in this thesis, I tried to find how these women take place, in which condition she is presented in his works.
