Özet
Türkiye'deki politik söylemin genel özellikleri ve gerçeklik sunumunun bu söylemdeki yerinin sorgulandığı bu çalışmanın ilk bölümünü metinlerde sorgulanacak görünümlere ilişkin kuramsal taban oluşturmaktadır.Bu bölümde ilk olarak kiplik üzerine yapılan çalışmalara ilişkin bilgilere yer verilmiş ve Palmer 2001'de belirtilen kiplik sınıflamalarına dayanarak Türkçede bilgisel ve tanıtsal kipliğin ve alt türlerinin nasıl işletildiğine yönelik betimlemelerde bulunulmuştur. Çalışmanın bu bölümünde ayrıca bilgisel kiplik alt türlerinin doğruluk değerine ve eleştirel söylem çözümlemesinin genel prensiplerine yönelik kuramsal bilgilere de yer verilmiştir.Çalışmanın ikinci bölümü, ilk bölümde aktarılan kuramsal bilgiler temelinde niteliksel ve niceliksel olarak verilerin çözümlenmesi aşamasını içermektedir. Niceliksel gözlemler veri tabanındaki önermelerin bilgisel kiplik türleri açısından dağılımını, niteliksel gözlemler ise çalışmaya konu olan politikacıların bilgi sunumundaki eğilimlerinin karşılaştırmalı çözümlemelerini içermektedir. Bu bölümde ayrıca eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi yaklaşımı temelinde gücün sunumunda kipliğin rolüne yönelik çözümlemelere de yer verilmiştir.Sonuç bölümünde ise çalışmanın vargıları toplu bir biçimde sunulmaktadır.

The first section of this study, which is about the general features of Turkish political discourse and the role of the presentation of reality within this discourse, givesa theoretical basis concerning the attributes to be sought in the texts.This section provides information regarding modality and how epistemic modality and evidential modality and their sub-types are formed in Turkish based on Palmer?s classification. In addition to these, information about truth values of epistemic modality?s sub-types and the general principles of Critical Discourse Analysis is stated in this section as well.The second section of the study comprises the examination of the texts quantitatively and qualitatively with regard to the attributes explained in the first section. Whereas quantitive observations include the distribution of the propositions in the database in terms of epistemic modality types, the qualitive observations include the comparative analysis of the tendency politicians being subject of the study have in the information presentation. Also in this section, based on the critical discourse analysis approach, the role of modality in the presentation of power is stated.The conclusion section of the study overviews the findings and results of this dissertation.
