Six samples belonging to the painting art dated to Archaic Period was found in Anatolia. Except the Gordion Painted House, all of these were preserved in the grave structures. The Kızılbel Tumulus located in Lycia has the highest number of friezes with figures. The paintings of Karaburun II Tumulus are not in good condition of preservation. However, it is one of the rarest centers where the pictures are found in situ. As the Harta and the Aktepe tumuli placed in Lydia had been looted by the grave robbers, only one or two figures of their paintings have survived.Consequently, it is observed that the banquet, war, ecphora and procession scenes were highly practiced on paintings. Addition to these scenes, it was detected that the scenes of hunting, sport contests and mythological events were used in Kızılbel. The ecphora and war scenes observed on the Karaburun II and Tatarlı paintings have strong interactions with the Achaemenian art. It is possible to talk about Persian influences on Harta, Aktepe and Gordion Painted House, where fewer numbers of paintings were found. No Persian influences can be attested in Kızılbel paintings. The drawing style and the compositions of the figures point to the middle of 6th Century B.C. The paintings of Karaburun II has an advanced drawing technique and they also contain Persian elements. Accordingly, Karaburun II is dated to the beginning of the 5th Century B.C. The Tatarlı paintings bearing Persian elements are dated to the end of 6th Century B.C. The pictures belonging to the Harta Tumulus might be dated after 560 B.C due to the procession scenes, which are seen in Persian art. The garments of the two figures at the prothesis scene of the Aktepe grave chamber are also seen in Karaburun II and Persepolis. Similar garments are also seen in ecphora scenes in Tatarlı. The Aktepe tumulus is dated to the last quarter of 6th Century B.C. to judge from its architectural structure and the datable finds.
