Özet
Bu arastırma; Adana il merkezinde yasayan lise ögretmenlerinin genetigi degistirilmis gıdalara iliskinbilgi düzeylerinin, görüslerinin ve bilgilendirilme ihtiyaçlarının saptanması amacı ile planlanmıs veyürütülmüstür. Arastırmanın lise ögretmenleri üzerinde yürütülmesinin temel nedeni, bireysel tüketiciolarak önemlerinin yanı sıra, genis bir ögrenci grubunu da yönlendirebilme özellikleridir. Adana'nın ikimerkez ilçesi olan Seyhan ve Yüregir'de bulunan 18 lisede görev yapan 267'si kadın ve 237'si erkekolmak üzere toplam 504 ögretmen arastırmaya dahil edilmistir. Arastırma verileri, cinsiyet, yas ve gelirdurumu degiskenleri dikkate alınarak irdelenmistir. Degiskenlere baglı farklılıgın belirlenebilmesi içinkhi ? kare analizinden yararlanılmıstır. Önem sırası belirtilmesi istenen sorularda ise karsılastırmanındaha belirgin olması için T = 3T1 + 2T2 + T3 formülü kullanılmıstır.Arastırma kapsamına alınan tüketicilerin %42.5'i biyoteknoloji terimini, %62.7'si ise genetigidegistirilmis organizma terimini dogru olarak tanımlamıslardır. Gıdalardaki etiket bilgilerine önemverenler %92.3, gıdaların etiketlenmesinin tüketicinin korunması açısından önemli oldugunu düsünenler%93.5 oranındadır. Tüketicilerin çogunlugunun (%93.7) genetigi degistirilmis gıdalar konusundabilgilendirilmek istedikleri, %90.3'ünün genetigi degistirilmis gıdalar konusunu da içeren ?tüketiciegitimi programı?nın yararlı olacagını düsündükleri belirlenmistir. This research has been planned and carried out with the aim of determining the high school teachers?,who live in the center of Adana city in order to determine the level of knowledge, opinions, and the needof being informed about the genetically modified foods. The basic reason for the research having beendone on the high school teachers is their ability of leading a wide range of student groups along with theirimportance as being individuals who are consumers. 504 Teachers of 267 female and 237 male, workingin the 18 high schools in Seyhan and Yüregir, which are the two county towns of Adana, have beenincluded to the research. Concerning the determination of the teachers? level of knowledge, opinions, andtheir needs of being informed about the genetically modified foods, Khi - Square analysis has beenapplied in order for the differences related to the gender, age, and income variables to be determined. Inthe questions in which the choices should be put in order of importance, the researcher benefited from theT = 3T1 + 2T2 + T3 formula to further clarify the comparison.Of the consumers under the research, 42.5% have identified the term of biotechnology and 62.7% haveidentified the term of genetically modified organism correctly. The percentages of those who payattention to the information on the food label is 92.3% and those who think of that the labeling of food isimportant in terms of protecting consumers is 93.5%. It was determined that most of the consumers(93.7%) want to be informed about the genetically modified foods subject, and 90.3% of them think ofthat the program of ?consumer education? including the genetically modified foods as well would bebeneficial.
