Özet

74 cooperatives have only been able to market tomatoes from greenhouses. Their share of the market is low with 18,4 %. In this text products such as tomatoes from greenhouses, ootton, wheat, tabacco, chick-pea, aniseed which are marketed by the examined cooperatives have been considered. Ootton takes the first place with 1.099.830.000 Ü.. among these products. It is followed by tomatoes grown in greenhouses with 190.800.000 it. and tabaooo with 188.564.000 U.., aniseed and chick-pea. The main aim of the foundation of the Çobanlar Village Develop ment Cooperative, which is considered as a oase study, is to be able to market tomatoes, belonging to the members of the cooperatives and to provide them with the cheep inputs. The cooperative had 45 members in 1989. The Cooperative provides its members with tomatoes seed lings and manure, and sells a certain amount of its members' tomatoes. The Cooperative sold 29.714 kg of members» tomatoes in 1988 and 38.200 kg in 1989. As a result although the regions where cooperatives are located have high potential, tomatoes from green houses have only been sold by Çobanlar Village Development Cooperative in marketing tomatoes, Cooperatives share is low.. On the other hand, Çobanlar Village Development Cooperative has been unsuccessful in the attempt of“ exporting their products, so the members have lost their confidence in cooperative. All these problems emerge from the lack of knowledge in marke ting and cooperative systems and also not having satisfactory studies in quiding and supporting these cooperatives.73 SUMMARY AND RESULT Cooperatives axe orgnisations which gather small capitals to enable their involvement in the economy. The aim of this study is determining the potential of products of these agricultural cooperatives which are marketable, and advancing the status of production of Çobanlar Village Development Cooperative, and finally finding out solutions to the problems of the cooperative. In addition, a) determining and analysing the current assets of the cooperative, b) creating opportunities to compare the economical foundations with the cooperatives for the purpose of enlightening the managers in the field of enterprise management, developing some necessoly measure ments to determine the success of the cooperative, and also analysing the activities of the cooperative from the economical and financial point of view. o) examining the activities of the members of the cooperative, determining the contributions of cooperative in the management economy and finaly advancing the status of the cooperative. The results of the research can be summarized as fallows. Nine cooperatives whioh were set up in accordance with act the number 1163 which requlates were selected from villages in Muğla.
